What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Congrats man. I always liked the look of the 3rd gens since they first came out!

 

In the process of adding heated glass to the mirrors and came across a little bit of rust under where the mirror attachs to the door. Sanded out rust, a bit of primer and then paint. Won't see it under the mirror, so quality of finish isn't important, but should address the rust issue.

 

KC leds under the hood
trimmed more fender
started covering the fender holes after removing flares
bedlined the hood, still needs some touching up
mounted license plate on AllPro offroad front bumper
lots of cleaning the underbody, corrosion mitigation and undercoating
spare tire under bed delete
storage consoles behind rear seat delete
debadged everything except TRD offroad decals on the sides of the beds

 

Is this how a proper lift should be done? Just waiting for the ALL PRO expedition leafs to come in tomorrow.

Ordered new Beck Arnley LCAs, ordering OEM toyota hardware for them and some wheelers offroad super bumps f/r today also. Went out Mountain Biking and when I went to open my canopy to sit on the tail gate, one of the cables snapped, so I Jerry rigged that as well.

Today was a good day. Gave away my chrome rear bumper and chrome tube side steps to a nice couple from CA. They are aware of Tacomaworld, but not members....

 

I have posted here about replacing my rear bumper last year and sliders from the RCI group buy. I have been wanting to get rid of all the chrome. I have succeeded . Except maybe the Tacoma name. I also believe in helping people out. He was a college student here in my state, a Tacoma double cab sb, the parts were a perfect match. I helped install the tube steps. I think there are more good people that are Tacoma owners, than any other group. To include turd gen owners. Or maybe I’m just naive.

 

Upgraded my headlight bulbs to the:

It’s hard to tell in the pic but the new bulbs are on the right, old on the left. In person it’s a huge difference.


Also finally got a matching spare. Going to rig up something to mount it against the cab in front of the bed.

 

I didn't do anything but drive it today.

 

Wilco tire carrier works pretty good. I have been on some rough roads and trails and it has not moved. I have also seen people ratchet strap it to the front with success.

So i did the carpet.. Unfortunately i did not realize i dod not have enough charcoal so its half charcoal half black.. but it wont look black long i am sure...

 

70K mile oil and filter change. Rotated tires, greased zerks, replaced cabin and air filters.

 

Washed, clayed, washed, waxed. Hadn’t washed it all winter. Eventually I’m gonna have to break out the polisher, some scuffs on the hood. The evening light didn’t do it justice so I’ll take a photo tomorrow. As long as the PNW pollen doesn’t ruin it....

 

That does look really good. I had originally planned on ratchet strap but like how clean the Wilco carrier looks. Appreciate that.
