What’s the consensus on tree roots? Stump grinder or pull them out?

I've been using a sawzall to make them manageable and then pulling them out. With all the pine trees we had the stumps ground down, but there are still a butt ton of roots to pull up.

Thoughts on metal carports? Best place to buy one? I don’t have a garage and I am tired of my vehicles getting covered in leaves. Would eventually like to build a permanent shop/garage with apartment over it but that isn’t happening anytime soon.

Do you have a surface other than gravel to set one on?

Just gravel for now but I would be willing to pour a pad if needed

Either pour a pad or measure out, dig and pour columns. Anything to anchor it to.

If you have trees or structures nearby, hanging a covering over it would be cheaper and easier. Anything to keep sun off of it. A car port won’t keep anything from blowing in any more than hanging a sun proof, fabric covering will (unless you mean one with covered sides and front)

A carport will at least keep you dry and keep most of the funk off your vehicles, and as a bonus, makes a good place to smoke some meat when it's raining!

We had one at the lake house we rented and thought about getting one for this house. Still might get a smaller one for parking yard equipment and stuff under.

Here is what I am working with. Probably would need to rent a bobcat for a day to level out a spot for a 2 car carport.
