    Most people get a 1-2 mpg increase. But this is not guaranteed. All Tacomas seem to have their own mind, LOL. And some have underlying problems like needing fuel pumps, fouled spark plugs, need new air filter etc.

    I have an MT on 04B41 (apparently there is a B42 update available now?) For some reason I've just heard about this KDmax tune for OVT and wondering if there are any specs or numbers I can study to see how it compares to the latest vfTune 2.0 performance tune file from OVT?

    KDMax pro 9.0
    After the tune, I’ve been getting like 1-2 mpg more but now it’s more or less the same as ovtune 2.0 . Why is that so? It’s because in ovtune 2.0, I drive it conservatively.Light foot cruise at around 65. If I press harder on the pedal or drive faster, the gear drops to 5th . With KDmax, I cruise around 70-75 on 6th gear . It even pulls mildly even on slight incline. The Tacoma it now seems love to cruise around that speed ( around1800 rpm btw it’s with size 32 duratrac So speed might be higher). I love the get up and go around town too. In short, I drive faster and a little bit more aggressive with this new tune.

    Just got my tune.
    Stock 2018 TRD OR

    Highway it will hold 6 longer for sure. On the longer mid steeper hills it'll still drop to 5th but as soon as its at the top of hill, it'll upshift to 6 right away not like before where it'll shift to 6 when its at the bottom of the hill. The stop and go be prepare to break necks. It's like sitting in the passenger seat of someone driving stick shift so you gotta get use to that. But I like it. Gear lock on cruise I thought it was gonna lock up but only does it if cruise is disengaged. So far this tune beats my previous stock oem tune

    It’s the eco screen.

    I think you go to the app page and click eco?

    or maybe where you change what your Home Screen looks like and then put eco as one of the tiles and then tap the eco tile

    After reading all these great reviews it's killing me! Lol. I got the kdmax tunes files, I have the the vf tune software and cable I'm just waiting for the damn master key to be emailed to me so I can get started! One question though I have a 2021, is it safe to assume that I'm on the lastest ecm firmware?

    I've been following OVtune development since the beginning but never purchased for various reasons. I am interested in the KDMax tune and need to get some clarification. If I purchase the VFtune package that includes the cable, software and 5 credits, would that be enough to load KDmax tune after purchase from paparee? I have the PC already and the windows knowledge to tackle the task. I am hoping the OVtune package is an unnecessary cost at the moment and If I get the bug to start tuning on my own, I could buy the OVtune tune package at a later date correct?

    Almost forgot. I would need to get Techstream too.

    follow the instructions provided for Updates and flashes

    that’s all you need really

    There is no need to purchase the VFtune pack unless you want to started editing based of an already built tune but even then you could probably find some free unlocked tunes if you look around TW Once you get to that point mail a beer to @Mooseditty17 then follow his thread about self taught tunes
