Good morning everyone! It rained all day here yesterday - today looks to be pretty much the same. I should get the last of the parts for the chipper today so I can get that and the brush cutter ready for work tomorrow. Looks like I'll be cutting grass before too long, too!!

    Be safe!

My son and I built the shed ramp frame yesterday and cut the decking boards to size. My plan this week is to stain the frame and decking boards then put a coat of a water seal on all the wood. I ordered non-slip plates yesterday to be delivered on the 16th. The old ramp used non-slip stick on tape which last about 2 years at best. The ramp is on the north side of the shed so I issues with moisture and a slippery surface. Below is a link to the non-slip plates. Anyone have any thoughts to a wood sealer, even one with the stain in the sealer?

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gal! Well, yesterday wasn't the best of days, so we'll just do those bad things over today and hope for better. Taking my chances that Monday was yesterday for me. Hoping for rain this week!

    Good morning All,

Applying for a septic repair permit this morning - going to have to replace the Distribution Box and re-route some of the pipes to the drain field chambers. Ordering a concrete box and riser so the system should function properly once repaired and still have access if needed. I wonder how long this issue has been going on, luckily (or unluckily) the clean-out back-up brought awareness long before the field failed all together. At least this fix will get many more years out of the system.

Not going to be able to start the repair until next week, rain and snow in the forecast for the next six days - never going to complain about getting moisture so I covered the DB with straw, a 2" insulation board and dirt to get through the week. I do have all five pipes (four to the field and one from the tank) identified and exposed - (now temporarily covered as well).

Also filing for a permit to build my firewood shed as it will be bigger than 20' x 12' with a roof. Going to work on the plan later today and lot location layout - this will be accurate while the septic layout isn't even close to be accurate - will have to redo that plan once the repair is completed.

Have a great day everyone and be safe.

    @MtnAltitude
    Mike,
Your septic tank system sounds a lot more complicated than mine. Mine is just a big concrete tank with one pipe near the top that runs to the drain field.
What is this distribution box you speak of?...and chambers? Something required because of your high altitude?
I'll have to admit honestly I don't know a lot about this subject.
(pretty crappy thing to talk about, LOL).
Sincerely, good luck with it all!

    Good morning everyone!

Art, I am sure you too have what they call a 'Distribution Box' - the pipe from your tank goes to this box and from there the water is diverted into each drain field chamber. The real difference each state/area/county may change is how the actual drain field is built. Here, unlike WI there are clean-out pipes at each end of the drain field chambers and one in the middle of the tank to DB. This helped a TON in locating where things are located.

That means it's working as it should, attacking the anitbodies from your first shot. So congrats, you are now fully protected.. at least until some variant comes down the pike that forces us to get a booster. :annoyed:

    Afternoon all:
Looks like the porch timekeepers are saying Ken's time out is over.
Get the heck back on here Ken, they can't get rid of the OP of the thread that easy! We certainly don't want to have to put another big recliner with a RESERVED sign on it next to Jim's with your name on it! :(

OK---update! I just started a conversation with Ken, which I couldn't before, looks like his timeout is up and hopefully he is on his way back to his rightful place on the porch.

Space is precious in Heck's Half Acre! Greenhouse primary function is to over winter pool Hibiscus and friends. (It did about 50% in it's first year) Secondary for the Spring and Summer is to keep me busy and providing a dozen peppers and tomatoes. It does well at giving me something to do. We'll see if the second year does better at providing veggies! (This is only the second summer with this fancy new one.)
