    Give it time....it will recur. The problem won't happen unless the truck is pretty warm. Let it get really hot, and you will experience the shudder again.

    Wow...that's really low mileage for that to be happening. But not surprised. These trucks always seem like they're struggling just to move.

    I’ve had a 07 FJ and 2017 4runner with same issue, my 06 4runner that I gave to my son, with306k no such issue

    Golly , A simple brake tap test can be performed to rule out the converter shudder .
    The additives in your fluid get depleted with heat cycles and if you continue driving the truck with the shudder , its only going to get much worse to the point where your converter will need to be replaced .
    Fresh transmission fluid and Lubeguard platinum is the additive you want . It helps deglaze the converter clutch dampner . Toyota dealerships keep Lubegaurd stocked on their shelves up in Canada just for this very reason
    The dampner is just like a flywheel in a manual transmission .The converter clutch shudders as the converter clutch applies and releases . The clutch inside your converter works just like the clutch in a manual transmission but in this case , the converter clutch is computer controlled .
    Picture yourself driving a manual transmission and riding the clutch all day in 5th gear . Thats what is happening inside your torque converter on a day to day basis . As an example , just driving to the store , your converter applies and releases 100 times .
    Change your fluid frequently .
    Read up on brake tap test .
    Also , engine missfires can be reproduced in the driveway without moving the truck .

    Well, just got back from the dealership, shudder/vibration acknowledged, “don’t see anything wrong or damaged, maybe it’s the cap”, o_O

    Converter lockup clutch it's probably some thing that can't be fixed some people can make them do that every time and it is timing like lifting you foot at the exact time the clutch try's to engage. It's not just Toyota's.

    Mine did it. Had it flushed still did it. Got my dealer to goodwill warranty a torque converter. Problem fixed.

    Alright , when you started feeling the shudder ,you tapped the brake pedal with your left foot as you were maintaining the gas pedal with your right foot ? This test has to be performed properly or it wont work for you . If you performed it properly , please disregard
    Did the shudder go away for a brief second or did the shudder continue rite through the brake tap test ?

    The dealership acknowledged your issue ? what did they say ?

    Did properly, did not go away, acknowledged issue, said found no damaged parts or loose parts, say could be cap, lol
    Truck only has 29k, had same issue with 07 FJ, and 17 4runner

    If the vibration didnt go away , with the brake tap test , I am fairly certain you can rule out the converter as being your problem . When you tapped the brake pedal , the converter disconnected
    To verify this , watch your tachometer when you feel the vibration , then stall test in your driveway running the engine up to the rpm where you felt the truck shudder .

    Truck only shudder/vibration while move, more significant on incline under steady throttle. Starts around 35, through 60. 65+smooth as glass
    Tires have been road force balanced and are new with less then 100 miles on them, vibration/shudder was present before

    Try this at highway speed touch the brake with your left foot while keeping steady pressure on the gas it will disengage the converter clutch it should go right back into lockup (try it a few times) see if it shutters if it doesn't then your still on a mission.

    I now have the same damn shudder..It got worse after I replaced the carrier bearing and transmission rear seal..I get a shudder in reverse and when I'm slowly turning...I love my Truck but it's driving me nuts lately..A whole lot of aggravating issues..

    I highly doubt shuddering in reverse will be caused by your torque converter locking clutch .
    With this being said , there are useful links in this thread to help you diagnose your vibration problem.

    In my opinion , your transmission is very low on fluid
    Have you attempted any diagnostics in the above posts ?
