Contaced wheelers and sure enough theyre out of stock on the correct bushings (omesb121) and atleast 2 weeks out. Wheelers off-road shifted the blame to ARB and explained how they didnt receive specifications on the newest version of the leaf packs (EL122R) but decided to ship them out anyway...

Are they letting you return the wrong ones?

They didn’t mention returning the wrong ones but they did say they would credit new bushings and ship out on their dime to remedy the mistake

That's interesting. It looks like a whole new leaf pack compared to the OME dakar pack I got back in 2018.

OME logos on the locater bracket things, leaf spring liners between each leaf, and much thicker isolators at the end of the leafs are all new additions looks like.

The military wrap at the front of the pack is also much larger.
Almost looks like a leaf pack for a different vehicle application. Hmmmm

Here's a pic of mine for reference when I put in an AAL recently

That is a bummer. I installed the same leafs years ago by myself no less. I know how much of a pain it is to get that far and have to stop. I get excited and jump the gun sometimes just thinking everything is good. I would likely have done the same in your case. Good reminder as I am installing a lift on my wife's 4Runner this week. From Wheelers no lesss. :) I'll be sure to check the parts and mock it up before disassembly. Wheelers are a great company and will make it right. I can see the mixup but it still sucks. Maybe see about expedited shipping?

Looks like there are updated part numbers for new Dakar leaf packs & corresponding bushings for 1st Gen Tacomas. The updates do look good (especially if it alleviates squeaky leafs).

But ARB/Wheelers would likely still stock the old bushing kits for some time in order to support all the CS046 leaf pack owners out there. So I guess you got stuck in the middle and received the new packs and the old bushings.

That really sucks, but it sounds like they did everything they could do to correct it by sending out the new, correct bushings ASAP on their dime. It's just that nothing is in stock because it's all stuck in containers somewhere. Same thing applies to ALL things mountain bike-related this year- I'm a bit worried about when I break something and need to replace it this summer.

As an aside, ARB drop-ships a lot of stuff for sellers (I've had things drop-shipped directly from ARBUSA when ordered through Low Range/Wheelers, Summit Racing, & an Amazon 3rd party retailer to name a few). So that can mess with "in stock" labels on sellers websites.

    Good luck!

I can't believe from all my research, I am in this same exact situation. (Almost).

Cleared the weekend to install my OME leaf springs. Bought them from an ebay seller. Their ad says CS046RA and B. I confirmed with them the part number so I ordered from Wheelers all the right bushings for the 46R including the front main eye bushing. The leaf springs get delivered and they're EL122R. Wtf?

I'm deciding if I should keep the leaf springs and wait for the right bushings or return the leaf springs and get the CS046R. I can get the CS046R immediately off a private seller.

That Ebay seller really messed up my weekend..

Does anyone have a review of the 46R vs the 122R?

On the plus side, it's only like 3-4 hours total to uninstall the old and reinstall the new leaf pack altogether. That's if you're not having to cut bolts.

Every vendor seems to be shipping the 122R in place of the 46R, so I'd venture to say they are incompatible for our vehicles and should not be installed no matter the circumstances. :bananadead:
(/s, this is sarcasm, sorry if it wasn't clear enough)

Vendors are still selling the old bushings because they are a consumable item, and like any manufacturer worth their salt, they will continue to produce the consumable items for a time after the main product has been discontinued.

Unfortunate position that no vendor has the intelligence from manufacturer to update their listings. But I'd wait and get all the newer stuff and test it out.

The new stuff is new for a reason.

Not sure if I follow exactly.

But I double checked with the seller to make sure these springs were the CS046R and they confirmed that they were.

People might ask why go with the 46R if the 122R is the updated version. For one, I have the bushings for the 46R already. Second, I can get the 46R springs immediately used. The only remaining question is, are the 122R springs a lot better than the 46R?

I have not seen a post or review yet that addresses your last question.

The assumption is the springs almost every vendor is now shipping (122R) (((they are probably drop-shipping))) is an updated version of the leafs for select models of 1st gen Tacomas (the same models as the 46R)

Yeah, most likely true. Wished they wouldn't advertise that these springs are still the 46R and when you call them, they still confirm that they are 46R. Bummer for me.

Of course if I return the 122R and purchase the 46R, a review will come out shortly that the 122R is way better. Lol

I have ~3" of lift in the rear (ALL + Shackle), which is more than the dakar gives. I had the rear brake line taught when jacking up the truck or going over bumps.

So yes, to be safe. (Dakar leafs themselves give like 2.5" i think). I replaced mine with Wheeler's lines (red for +10hp) when they had a sale.

If you're not doing anything but street driving, you should be ok. Your truck might be different. Also look into a brake proportioning arm bracket thing.

Thanks. I'll have to test without a brake extension. I only street my truck right now.

I would get the extended one. I ran the stock brake line for about a year after lifting the rear 3 inches, didn't think much of it. One day I was working under the truck and noticed how taught the stock line was when I had the rear jacked up. Which means when wheeling and flexing the suspension on the trail I was playing with fire. Promptly ordered and installed the extended line after that.

Not worth having your stock line tear while on the trail and losing your brakes. It's a cheap and easy to install upgrade for peace of mind
