SFob vs stock. Have any of you guys taken a 2.0 version of your MT tunes but ran it with SFOB's:
    Base Intake valve angle target
    AFR Base and Direct
    Fuel Cylinder Filling?

I'm wondering if that would work to transfer those maps over to an Auto tune? For an Auto SFOB of sorts... Scared to try though

Well... I've yet to get that option.
I've played with the base intake before and had to adjust low knock. I see the sfob tune has base intake increased in similar areas but no differences in the low knock. I'm curious is the Cylinder fill tables being less has anything to do with this. I drove a 1.05 Beta tune for my truck and OMG. It just shifted like sh*t in comparison to the 2.0 tune. I've been trying to safely blend the two ever since.

If you're going to attempt making your own SFOB for AT, the upcoming AFR patch that @OVTune mentioned last night may make that a little easier.

As for the low knock, I believe @92ehatch has been adjusting that, smoothing out the knock lately, no? He's been making some great progress through trial and error on his test maps.

I'd wait and see what the new Ultimate map switch tune looks like with ECT on. It is said the intake valve timing will be modified, I suspect OVTune took what he learned on the SFOB files and applied it to AT.

I have no idea what he did to make sfob vs regular

There are only a couple of differences that we can see but there must be a logic behind the scenes.

As far as the low knock tables, they only affect when the learn value is low. By lowering some of the problem areas there (knock fb of -6 and -7) it made my knock learn climb, then it went to the high knock tables and started doing it again, so now I've started adjusting the high knock tables and it seems to have leveled out. My knock learn stays between 23 and 26 but if i let the truck idle for a long time in the heat, i think heat soak affects it and when i first start driving the knock fb will jump and learn value will go down. With that being said, once it starts moving and cools down everything goes back to normal.

I'm not sure when it changes between each one, but I'm feeling like it's somewhere between 21 and 23 learn value. Or some interpolation between the two tables.

I wouldn't go so far as to make the timing always avoiding all knock. If you are to neuter the timing to that point you would probably end up neutering max power. I've been playing with mine trying to keep the knock feedback above -5 and below -2 (when knock learn is above 23). And I'm running 89 , not 87

@mZiggy I will note that i notice it uses direct injection more with SFOB vs with the regular file.

I also changed my DI to Port mix to go DI only when above 2k rpm across all loads.

I can feel it when it switches, there is a bump that happens, its strange but by keeping it in DI mode more often, i get less of a bump when loading up.

As for valve timing, i reverted back to OVtunes version but im still thinking somewhere in there is the reason for the lunging feeling that MT's get, and im guessing it has more to do with the fact that the AT doesnt get it as much because the truck shifts gears.

Basically, the "lunging" we have been feeling only happens at certain load ranges, if you let up on the throttle a bit it goes away. What ive been noticing, it only "lunges" when the truck is at 70* intake advance, in these scenarios the exhaust is also around 10 to 13*

Im all for some overlap (its a good thing to a point) But im wandering if the intake being fully advanced (opens earlier) and the exhaust being fully retarded (closes later) if it isn't too much overlap.

When the truck is in the 40-60* advance it does not have this issue.

After fixing the heavy knock FB i was getting, i've determined it(knock) was not the cause of the lunging, however it did fix the stumble during acceleration.

So then I wonder if Full Otto mode is say... effectively like 1600 or so rpm and up.

Mat had mentioned a long time ago that FOB and SFOB only have atkinson enabled in very few and specific scenarios. Since FO provides such nice low end oomph, I wonder how far down that DI-only goes. If that's what the answer or part of it is.

I haven't looked at the FO fueling tables

I have no idea when or why it decides to go between 0, 1, 2 (port, direct, both) I know that the switch from 0 to 1 creates a small thud. The switch between 2 to 1 doesn't do it nearly as much.

Typically i see 0 when decel or idle or very low load/rpm.

I see 1 when under hard accel and above 2500 rpm

I see 2 when crusing between 2 to 3k rpms
