Those with no experience are similar to a comment by a doctor that doesn't practice, has never practiced, has no intention of ever practicing - interesting comments perhaps but generally irrelevant.

OK, Now I know why almost everyone who tries these things "LIKE" or "LOVE" them. I've been trying to push the throttle pedal harder, for the past couple of weeks, like the nay sayers suggest, while trying to talk myself into spending the $$$. I wasn't impressed. I finally decided on a Sprint Booster, Got it hooked up a couple of hrs. ago & "DAMN" my little 2013, 2.7, 4X4, auto., Taco has come alive. Nothing like pushing the pedal harder. The cheaper ones may do the same thing, but I figured the better name one may work a little better & maybe have less risk of throwing codes or something. I'm sure that if the folks that are giving the neg. comments would try one first, there would be a whole lot less neg. responses coming in. This is way better than I expected it could be. Still wish I knew if the lower priced ones would work as well. If these things work on other folk's Tacos like it does on mine, no way anyone could not be happy with it. Thank ya'll who helped talk me into getting it. Just wish I'd got it a long time ago.

Well the cheap $70 throttle controller I got off of Amazon kept making my Tacoma throw a code and put it in some sort of limp mode.
Sent it back and ordered this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pedal-Gas-...5-2020/254338292213?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I paid $150 by sending an offer (was $169 at the time)and they accepted.
This one works just fine and I like the screen display much better.
The $70 amazon one looked like a cheap voltage meter display you stick in the aux/cigarette lighter socket.
This one also has a Manual Trans mode and an AT mode.
No idea what the difference actually entails I'm just happy this one works.
Seems to do everything the Pedal Commander does other than have bluetooth which doesn't bother me for half the price.

Hey all, well I bought the Pedal Commander for my 2005 DBCB 4.0L
All I can say is I am very impressed with this device. Throttle response is very impressive 10 fold.
    I tried it on Sport+ Mode +4
And the throttle was so responsive you could not drive it in that mode in the city
Well very impressed. This does not give you more horse power at all, it is all in the throttle response and voltage and how fast it flows to ECU
But wow. Like this very much, well worth the 299.00

I see this product as a reason for me to be using it a lot , just to feel the response time. It might feel great but I think I will be filling up more.

No, he hasn't...he's just gonna dazzle you with technical jargon and prove he's right.

You don’t need to shoot your self in the foot to know that it hurts.
This is by definition the same thing as just romping on your pedal harder. Save the dough for the extra gas lol

Paid the money, put it on the truck and don’t like it. Tried a few different modes and can’t find one I enjoy. Fun to mess around in sport mode for a minute, but 99% of the time I keep it turned off.

Hey Garrett, you're not the first one who didn't like it, just say'in that a very large % who do try them do like them. I haven't kept #'s but I've been investigating these things for a few months & I'd guess 90 to 95% who try them seem to like them. I think the folks keeping up with this thread, would like to know what kind (brand) you bought & the reason for not being satisfied with it. Is yours too sensitive & too jerky, or does it just not add any peppy-ness to your Taco's throttle response? Mine on #1 lowest setting is about like not having it turned on, #9, the middle mode on my Sprint Booster, makes my 2013 with the FBW feel about like my old "98" Taco that didn't have FBW feels, & # 11 & up it just gets too sensitive & jerky, too sensitive to fool with. Thanks for your input, it helps us all kind'f understand more about these things.

You spend a lot of time on here knocking a product you don't like, don't want and have never used. I have had one for a bout a year, I like it and would buy another. Endlessly posting your 'internet research' and your opinion seems a monumental waste of your time. But it is your time so ...
[Hint: There is an article, supported by the opinion of many, backed by graphs and charts or statistics to support absolutely every crock idea under the sun. Your 'research', idea and opinion here being but one example.]

But its not research theory sir, its simple fact and understanding of the simple circuit itself. It not that i dont like the product, Its just the fact what it claims to do is not possible on our trucks.

There's none so blind as those who will not see. Proverb you'll never be able to make one understand or accept something if they're too stubborn or unwilling to learn or notice..."BUT"... FBW controllers are set to open your throttle at a set, slower speed than cable or linkage, that can be slammed wide open as soon as you push the pedal. Just for #'s, you mash your pedal 1/2 way to the floor & it takes 4 sec. for the throttle to get to 1/2 open. If you had pushed your pedal all the way to the floor, it would still take 4 sec. to get to 1/2 open, but would keep going another 4 sec. till wide open. Pushing the pedal to the floor won't make the throttle get to 1/2 open in 2 sec. or wide open in 4 sec. If you install a controller & adjust it to do so, it makes the throttle get to 1/2 open in 2 sec, instead of the orig. 4 sec., & wide open in 4 sec. instead of the orig. 8 sec. it will make your Taco take off quicker, feel peppier, & get up to speed sooner. Not increasing the power, just getting to use the power that is there twice as fast. I would draw a chart, but I don't know how to post pictures.

Sigh.... again, the throttle pedal circuit could be wired with a god damn on off switch to instantly go from no throttle input to full input and the throttle blade of the truck would only open as quick as the servo at the throttle body could do so (which is very fast)... just like if you mashed the throttle pedal. No amount of fancy pedal commander circuitry will change that "delay"

Im going to make a gopro video one of these days of the throttle body and how quickly it does open stock.
