On a more serious note, for me it’s more important that I spend money in my local community (within reason, the deal has to be competitive of course) then where that item is made. For example, in the past year I bought my Taco and a new motorcycle from dealers in the city where I live (Toyota of Orange and OC KTM). Spending my $$ locally direct impacts people who live and work in my city (both in terms of supporting the staff of a local business and in terms of tax revenue for the city where I live), which I like. Plus I work in an industry which is primarily funded through tax revenue so maybe I see things a little differently then some.

Big picture idea I know but as far as Tacos go you’re ultimately giving your money to a company headquartered in a foreign country, so why not keep as much of that money local to where you live?

The place of assembly shouldn't make any difference. After all, the product is subject to the same Toyota quality control. My new Tacoma is made in Mexico, and I'm quite happy with it.

All I know is Mexican Tacos don't come with sour cream.

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
That is absolutely true. When I took delivery of my new Mexican-made Taco back in February, there was no sour cream to be found anywhere. I looked in the glove box, console, storage under and behind the seats and even the cubby in the bed. And no sour cream.

My 2019 Taco (automatic transmission) was made in Mexico, I named her after a Mexican midget I once knew named Consuela, because she brings me comfort.
