My unit while using apple car play for my music the next / prev button on the steering wheel does not work unless the HU is in the CarPlay screen. If I go back to the Android apps for example while playing CarPLay music the music still plays but I cant advance it to the next or prev song with the steering wheel.

Maybe we should start a Joying configuration thread, there seems to be lots of quirks and 5nahalf's thread has been decimated.

    Next 2 issues:
    1. Very bright at night, has anyone figure out controls for a night mode?

    2. My back up warning sensors are not working. Or at least I am not getting an audible alarm when I am close to something.

That's to be expected with how they had to get it to work. What's more annoying is that the ZLink app attenuates any other music source when selecting it.

Joying responded and stated there is no night mode and to decrease the brightness. For Celsius they said there is nothing they can do to fix this issue and to use a weather app lol.

Still waiting on response for the backup sensors not functioning and I can’t find where to fix km back to MPH

It's under the truck settings next to the speedometer between the two gauges. It's not in the actual head unit.

Ok you can all proceed to call me dumbass now. When I was putting the unit in I must have accidentally turned off the damn rear sensor parking assist button! All is back to normal now and working. Agama interface is definitely nice and has huge potential. I like it provides temp in Fahrenheit. Will now just turn off the unit temp. This site definitely is legit. Thanks to all who contributed and 5nahalf gracious support in hijacking his own thread!

Just installed mine tonight, spent the better part of it trying to get the steering wheel controls and back up camera working. I have the Car Solutions Front and Rear Camera module; once I disconnected the module, everything was working properly. I have it set as the Hilux 2015-2018. Sucks now that I have a front camera and module that is no longer usable. Although I tend to forget it is there even when I'm off roading. I thought I read somewhere here that some were able to get their front camera working? Any ideas? If it helps I have the non JBL system, I did run into the issue where the radio was beeping and I could not get out of the phone screen. Disconnected the canbus, set the Car Settings and that fixed that. In an attempt to be proactive.

I was also researching heat sinks and covers for the radio and found a fan cover replacement on Thingiverse. The creator made it so that you can hook up a 60mm or 80mm fan to it. So if anyone who wants to give a go can try printing this out. I will update when I get my fan (noctua 80mm).

I got almost everything I need, just waiting on the sumi to sma connector so I can use the OE GPS antenna. Not sure you can see through the "vents" but I put some heat sinks on the processor and a few of the chips since I had some smaller heat sinks laying a round. Unfortunately the cover(s) that I found does not completely line up with the the Joying units since they are originally made for the Dasaita variants. But I made it work and am using the radio mounts to hold it in place. I bought the Noctua 80mm 5v USB version and hooked it up to one of the rear usb ports. I had a momentary heart attack when the fan stayed on after I turned the truck off and was wondering what was going on. Went through all the settings and couldn't find anything that would control the ports. I was about to tie the fan into the acc and ground lines when I noticed that the fan had stopped. So I figured maybe the rear USB ports have a time out feature, which was roughly 1 minute before powering off. I don't know how that will affect battery life but we shall see.

I don't have car solutions. I have the anytime f/r. camera. On my head unit it has an app called "front video" that gives power to the camera and then I press my front camera switch to see video.

I think it is a no go for me at least for now. I will mess with it next time I take it out to install the GPS adapter

Got it installed. Everything worked right away, but there are a few things I don't care for...

    1. The non-AA (android Auto) UI is hideous. I realize that this is largely subjective, but it's ugly. Is there a launcher that mimics Android Auto? The icons and such..
    2. I've never used AA before now so I could be missing something, but as of now, I don't think I can listen to AM/FM radio while also using AA
    3. AA doesn't automatically connect when plugged into my phone. (very minor inconvenience)
    4. The 3 capacitive buttons are not always illuminated like the stock ones. They only come on with the headlights. Not a problem, just an oddity.
    5. Google Maps doesn't go into "night mode" when the headlights are on. Maybe there is a setting for this? My settings on my Google Account show my Map display color scheme as "Automatic".
    6. Back up camera sucks now.

That's all for now. I bought this unit mostly for the Android Auto feature. I do a lot of traveling and hate having to look at my phone because the maps on the stock HU suck terribly. For that it works great. I'm not sure it's worth the trade off though. We'll see.

I just purchased the Android 10 Joying head unit. I read a bunch of threads about an OBDII Bluetooth sensor tying into it but all the reccommended ones linked in the thread are sold out or no longer exist. Has anyone found another one that works with the HU?

1: I am using car launcher pro (there is a free version too I think)
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.autolauncher.motorcar
2: when using AA you are using your phone for everything, the FM radio is part of the android headunit so you need to exit.
3: sometimes anoying, thats why I went without AA and just use the headunit as android.
4: There is a option in the settings for the button lights, its named something weird though
5: Not sure, but the headlight switch just dims the display, it wont change themes
6: backup camera always sucked, its just now on a bigger screen.

I hook my phone up via tethering to my headunit, then I just use google maps in the headunit. This gives me more control over what I listen to, and still have the maps up.

Anyone have any issues with the doors unlocking/locking when shifting to P? That is how I had/have it set up before switching head units. Now the truck will not unlock the passenger doors. I found the menu to adjust this in Car Info but pressing the buttons does nothing. I can hook the truck up to Techstream to adjust but was wondering if people had this problem? Maybe it is because I have the radio set as a Hilux? I will change the setting to Rav4 and see but I think I might have to change it via Techstream.

While I dont have that issue, my drivers rear door always says its unlocked in the headunit. Though its locking just fine.

2: when using AA you are using your phone for everything, the FM radio is part of the android headunit so you need to exit. Fair Enough. I think Android should work on a fix for this. It is what it is.
4: There is a option in the settings for the button lights, its named something weird though I've found the setting...cant remember what its called either, but it doesn't allow them to stay on all the time. Not a big deal.
5: Not sure, but the headlight switch just dims the display, it wont change themes Right, but the factory unit Navigation would go dark mode when the headlights were actuated. Seems like there'd be a way to incorporate this, either by the switch or by the time of day.
6: backup camera always sucked, its just now on a bigger screen. Fair.

I haven't really tried not using AA. I suppose I can, I just hate the way it looks. I'm a form and function kind of guy.

The way joying does android auto on a android tablet is super hacky to start with since its going through a app that tricks the phone into thinking its a android auto headunit. I think (not sure 100%) the reason it doesnt work right is due to the zlink app takes over of the audio output stream, so in order to get FM you cant have zlink running since its taking the audio stream.
