That makes for the best deals. I'm convinced that's how I got as good of a deal for my car as I did.

I’ve had one before, will replace with high clearance ACL bearings in time. Having a rusty frame on the Tacoma scares me more than the rod bearings of an m3

They're cool cars, I'm more of a fan of the other rod bearing demolisher (the ol s85), but right now my current source of wallet emptying German design is a 135i DCT. Funny enough I'm fixing a rusty frame tacoma too lol

Does that M3 have the DCT or the manual?

I have a 335i n54, my second 335i. Regret buying it as neither of them want to work so I will be selling soon.
I had considered a v10 m6 but the white m3 showed up for sale less than 10 minutes away. It’s a DCT but it has an aftermarket supercharger on it that makes 580whp so it’s more fitting than a manual I think

my first m3 was a manual and it was a fun car with the stick. Wanted to do the eventuri engine cover but it was totaled

Tacoma is back in the land of the living. 5.29s and 35s don’t mix to well for the highway, but 37s are next on the list.

I don't blame ya on losing the N54, were nothing but pains for me too. I've got an N55 now and I'm much happier reliability wise. The supercharger on the v8 sounds like it would be a good combo, a mildly tuned n54/n55 car easily is faster than that stock v8 m3, but with some torque it would be a real monster for sure. I fell in love with the DCT, its so damn fast it's astounding good fun to drive, with the xHP tune it's seriously spicy and it's nice to be able to control the torque punch and torque roll off of each shift.

This is my current driveway urchin (needs 2 injectors, but in fairness it has 125k on originals)

Whatever you do don't buy one unless you're 100% about your employment status, ability to adapt to a car that never runs 100% correctly, have AAA, and have the ability to dedicate way too much time to fixing a vehicle that will run for 1/3 of the time invested into fixing it

But they're addicting in a Stockholm syndrome kinda way

1/3 is being generous. I think my 335i ran 3 months of the year I had it.
M3 never had any problems aside from from failing smog due to a bad 2CIA at 145k miles

I own a jeep, that’s enough unreliability for one lifetime
