I'm looking at the icon progressive AAL. I read the instructions and it doesn't really say if I leave the overload spring in or if I have to take it out.
I know it says 1.5 inch lift but with the overload still in, would it be closer to 2 inches of lift?
Any other brand suggestions or options would be great to hear about and what yinz have experienced.

I know with the Headstrong brand one, it says on the product page to take the overload out, as the smallest leaf is meant to act as an overload, when you consider the overall spring rate, and having the stock overload reduces travel. I would think its the same with the Icon...

but you could leave it in and it would basically just be a better block lift, and get you a bit of extra lift out of it. I have seen people leave it in without any issues.

It's 1.5 ish with overload out. Probably a little bit less with well used leaf springs. If you leave the overload in you get the thickness of the leaf in height.

I bought the wheelers 1.5 progressive aal it was the cheapest. I like it the ride on it. Only got like 1.3 inch of lift w/o overload though. I didn't need any shims or carrier bearing drop.

I also used the Wheelers 3 leaf progressive aal and only got 1.2ish inches of lift. I ended up putting the overload leaf back in when I put in my shims.

So when I install it just leave the OL in and everything will bolt right up? If I'm reading that correctly.

Yes. I have the Icon AAL and it specifically says in the install instructions to remove the overload leaf. Some do choose to leave it in, however. I kept it out.

Yes if you want around 2" leave the overload in, just take the overload off the bottom put the AAL on and then put the overload back on the very bottom.

What front shocks/struts are you running?
I honestly don't want to put a spacer in.

Currently using the fox trd pros with a 3/4" top plate spacer. Total of 2.25" with the fox upgrade and spacer. Been waiting for the new eibach front spring replacement but it's been over a year. I'm not using the truck for hard wheeling, more occassional overlanding. The fox shocks are great and do the job, not worth the extra expense for my needs. Putting that $ toward 4.88s!

My leafs have only 20k on them when I put in the Icon AAL. I did put an RSi cap on and I'm lucky if I got an inch total. I'm upgrading to the full Icon RXT leaf pack so I don't have so much squat in the back.

I had a shop do it so I need to go check but I have a feeling they did it to Icon spec. I did ask for all parts back and it wasn't with it so possibly?
