Recently installed some SCS BR6 wheels (16x8 with -12 offset) with my Falken At3w at 265/75/r16 on my 3rd Gen with stock suspension. I rub mainly on very slow turns at a slightly sharp angle. Any tips to help stop the rubbing outside of a lift? I plan on getting one soon but for the time being, what has worked for any of you?

Trimming and heat gunning the liners. Also an alignment might help too.

are you rubbing on the mud flaps? I used to run the same exact setup (16x8 -12 wheels, 265/75 tires, stock suspension) and I only rubbed on the mud flaps. I now have a lift but Ill still rub on the flaps if I were to reinstall them.

    All of them.
Cut this off, remove fender liner and hit everything with a hammer. Plenty of room for activities 20210410_152942.jpg 20210409_171826.jpg

Weird. Do you have wheel spacers?

No spacers. So far I might just pull the trigger on a lift kit if that’ll help. I’ve planned on getting one in the future but I guess now could be anytime as any

Max the caster out. And then cut/trim as needed.

The rubbing will go away after the tire eats through the thin plastic.

    Problem solved

I’m sorry I’m not familiar with your suggestion? I’m sort of new and still learning about these things. Mind explaining what you mean?

Is that a cab mount chop? I’m still learning about these things so correct me if I’m wrong!

Do you have stock UCAS? (UPPER CONTROL ARMS) ? or stock/oem? If you have stock/oem nevermind. If you have aftermarket uca then take it to an alignment shop. Tell them what you would like to accomplish ,max the caster. Caster, camber ,toe. All part of the alightment of a vehicle. I also suggest taking you're vehicle yo a reputable alignment shop. As for triming and cutting I suggest a dremel with a plastic cutting bit, you can also use a headgun and mold/conform the inner plastic to accomplish as well. Upgrade the suspension, you could go with a spacer lift although I wouldn't recommend it. Tacos are like that, do one mod, have to do something else to make it work.

Has anyone explained why a lift is not the solution for rubbing?

Well, let me be the one to bring fact and logic to the conversation.

Your suspension cycles, meaning you hit a bump, your shocks compress and when you go over a dip, your shocks extend. What that means is, if you rub at stock height, you will still rub with a lift when your suspension compresses.
You have to be able to fit wheels and tires at stock height with no rubbing, which means heating, bending and maybe chopping. Find out where you are rubbing and report back. Somebody will give you guidance on how to fix.

A lift won't solve the problem. You'll still have to cut and trim.

Yes so far everything within my suspension is stock. I have heard that method of a dremel and heat gun so I’ll try that method out soon

I have SCS -10 wheels with 265/70/17 tires on stock (for the moment) suspension. You'll need to do some trimming and put a heat gun to your liners to move them back to not rub.
