Anyone know if Florida has any pockets of good mountain biking?

where abouts? I know there’s some closer to Pensacola I was told I had to ride. At some school. Might be FSU, what’s in Tallahassee? I just know it’s in the panhandle somewhere - coworker went down and rode with some family for a day there, apparently a pretty big area. But otherwise Florida is pretty flat and geared toward a .... more senior crowd. Depends if you’re a cross country type or a climber type if that’s a good thing

The big boys came in, only thing I noticed is in the first photo. I’ll point it out if you don’t see it.

Came with 200mm 6bolt rotors that seem to be in good condition. Maybe an upgrade for the 5010 there as I think it’s 180 F/R with some guide Ts.

Also have a 10speed derailleur and shifter, I’d gladly trade for the cost of a set of brake pads.

I know Santos and Alafia are popular.

Santos down by Ocala is good for the area.

Ha! I know exactly where that is, and those little piglets. They went crazy for some scuds last time I was there. Like 5 years ago!
Didn’t know you were into fly fishing. We need to get out one day, none of my close buds are patient enough.

I don’t think so, at least now from visual inspection, but I didn’t take the cotter pin out yet and actually check it with a screw.

Cotter pin, my assumption is during a brake pad change he dropped screw and couldn't find it.

Oh ok. Can’t tell it’s a cotter by the photos. That’s what I meant by stripped out bolt. Looks like a destroyed bolt head to me lol

First trip out actually on a fly rod. But I was addicted instantly. Been dabbling in spin casting all my life though.

Fly fishing is great as long as you have someone to show you the ropes. Trying to teach yourself is a mixed bag because everything has four names for the same thing. For instance, trying to attach your tippet to your leader has about a bible’s worth of literature on it.

Had a coworker of mine take me out. He was great on keeping the knowledge drop to a manageable level.

If you want more training (and coupons for gear) do one of the Orvis classes. They are free and you get a coupon for like 20% off after. Fly fishing is an amazing time. I caught my first bass on the fly last year and that was pretty awesome. Trout are obviously fun too haha
