I did my ECGS bushing , re installed my oem cv’s that I re booted and re greased and adjusted my Kings.
Washed my engine compartment and installed my awning. I have had this awning for several months and was waiting to get a roof rack to i stall it. But after washing my truck today I decided to see if it would work on my bed rack with my rtt. It actually worked really well. I will probably still do a roof rack and move the awning to it bit this will work in the mean time. I also may move it to the rear of the rack to raise it about 9 inches and have it extend over the tailgate.

Project Farm did a review of trim restoration products. That one far outshined the rest of the products he tested. Based on his results, you should be good for a while.

I guess it is how you count it. Been a while, but I think it was:

1 - Starter pos to battery pos
2 - alt pos to fuse box pos to battery pos
3 - Starter neg to battery negative
    4- battery neg to frame

Here is the link I was thinking of. He has a great RTMR thread on TW which lead me to his page on the big 3. Once you read it, you'll understand what I mean by harness and how its all combined/wrapped up together (to remove/replace one wire, you need to take it apart). Essentially to do it the way he did it, and I did it, you'll need to remove the harness, reuse the plastic piece (or not), reuse the starter to alternator plug, and replace all the other wires. Then retape it, put heat shield back on (I bought some cause the 0 gage wouldn't fit within the original). I guess if you were just adding wires in addition to engine harness no 2 and not replacing them as I did, that'd be a different approach, and probably why I am scaring you.

    http://www.bodenzord.com/archives/477

This thread was immensely helpful to get to the alternator to fuse box - fuse box to battery bolt.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-box-battery-wire-replacement-upgrade.420450/

Hopefully this helps. I have a 2015 by the way. Not sure if yours is different. Let me know if I can answer more questions. Not an expert, but did this a few years ago.

As do I. I appreciate how straightforward he is with his testing methods, opinions, and results. No BS, no stories, no pandering, just tells it like it is.

My GFs family lives near Sand Flats actually, and we get down there fairly often! I could definitely be interested if it's the size I'm looking for. Shoot me a DM with some pics and specs when you have a moment. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, I've seen a few 5x8s for under $1k. I'm looking for at least 10ft, as the boat is 14ft and I will be driving 3-8 hours one way with it every weekend though the season basically.

Picked up my rear bumper from powder coat this morning. Can’t wait to cut more of my truck off and throw it on.

    :sawzall:

Just a tip, instead of hacking it straight off cut about 2" below where you need to then heat up the paint a touch (just hot enough to touch for a few seconds don't burn it, use a heat gun on low or a hair dryer) and carefully fold/roll that section up to the point you need it makes a much nicer cleaner edge and hides any unevenness in your chop.

Thanks to @Brian422 I believe for the idea, if it wasn't him it was his truck twin.

That’s actually an awesome idea. I could use a little bit of cleanliness on my bedsides lol. I appreciate that.

    Or cut straight?

It’s pretty easy to get a nice straight cut across the rear fender with an angle grinder.

Kinda surprised in the Aerospace 303 product not doing well at all. Everyone raves about their products. I've used Mothers Back to Black for a long time. I must have an older formula because mine doesn't last that long.

It pertains to a cleaner edge, instead of having a cut edge it will be smooth.

Phew man, there's no way I would be able to roll the sheet metal well enough to look better than a straight cut. Sheet metal can be a motherfucker.

303 is an interesting beast, it needs a long time to leach into the plastics and cannot really do it when in sunlight or heat as it will evaporate it's emulsifiers and plasticizers before they are absorbed into the plastics, some plastics with too much UV can also glaze over and just won't accept 303 without either soaking or heat treating first and some plastics just do not play well with 303 period.

That said 303 is one of my favorite products and I bought a 5 gallon bucket of the stuff.

About once a year I put it in a chemical pump sprayer and soak my engine bay, keeps all the hoses and plastics nice and supple, no broken wire looms, clips, or rotted hoses and rubbers for me!
