60+ and driving a Tacoma. But in all fairness, I was a young lad of 58 when I bought it.

Before that the last Toy Truck I had was in 1995, at the age of 35, when I sold my 1984 4WD "Truck". Not much of a model name for marketing, is it?

Welcome to the porch ZKH. Pull up a chair and join in. The other folks will be along in a bit. Great group on the porch. Bought my first Tacoma at 59 and just sold it and bought another. Good truck and fun to drive. Enjoy.

    Good morning all,

Freezing rain today - fun stuff. This will keep me from working outside and in the garage - have some in-house to-do-list items to get out of the way before the weather turns to OUTSIDE to-do-lists take priority...

Got the Septic Repair permit yesterday, had a good email communication with the county inspector. Kept Alice out of the discussion, she knows all the inspectors due to working at the lumber yard. I have never liked pulling on connections right away - it will come out on its own. I like to get to know people straight up, he was great and helpful considering he is dealing with a rookie when it comes to building department permit policies and requirements.

Great to have you back Ken, I am still trying to find out what happened to Wil - he seemed to have dropped off the map.

Have a great day, be safe

Sorry. I had a little discomfort in my arm after the 2nd shot.

Welcome back! Waiting on pics of the new truck.

Yes he has not been on Facebook either. I guess he just needed a mental health break. I need to take the summer off from Facebook myself. I took some time off myself about 4 years ago. I was letting things I have no control over affect me and that is not good.

    Good Morning, All.

Septic Humor. When I had the field pressure jetted, we have access caps stick up about 1' out of the ground, nice threaded caps. I went to clean from that end. Only course sand came back up. Just odd. I started digging. Those pipes just made the edge of the septic field and didn't tie into anything! #$%! After jetting the field, no issue. We have a 4" to 2" reduction that acts as a grease trap, but the rest was good.

My wife's end table find. $60. Not bad for older pieces, three drawers in each. One missing hardware. Simple enough, nope. 3.125" between centers. About 80mm, hmm, nothing to be found. Lee Valley Hardware has many neat cabinet hardware and found some 76mm spacing items. the Trick is to drill and glue the wood with 1/4" hardwood and jig up drill jig. I still have a bunch of 4140 steel to use as a drilling jig. New hardware (six drawers) is about $72. Keeping the wife happy, priceless. Going into their tool catalog is dangerous, but since I have those drawer pulls coming might as well see what else I need.

Hmm, 0.041 wire is what I used to pull the bolts down into the frame when I installed my sliders. Used the last of it (after 40 years) time to order more. (they sell it). https://www.leevalley.com/en-us/shop/tools/workshop/tool-maintenance Need a hose clamp Sunday Morning, simple with this tool. My grandfather had a similar homemade item, so the idea isn't new but forgotten to time.

Hmm, four of those 150-pound magnets to get my RSI Smart Cap off the truck (four rope hoist in the garage). Hmm, I had a 75-pound magnet that I used on my Noga Indicator. Machined up a 1/4" 20 TPI threaded adaptor for my camera. That allowed me to use my camera for handheld video, with a 30-pound steel weight to stabilize the image. The catch was the 75-pound pull is rated at standard (59F) temp. That 30-pound hunk of steel dropped when it was 110F on an August day!

A little something every chance we get.
Good Moring Porch Pals & Gal & Ken! And nice looking MGM there fella'!

Finally made it through all the Greenhouse fixing yesterday. I did those drips three times today, and I may do them yet again. Direct lines with just couplings didn't have the pressure to make it to the end of the lines, so pulled all the couplings and hoses off, and re-installed drips on the main line. Made sure they worked (I have to clean them all the time, so wanted to not use them), then put the hoses back on.

Today continues the AC saga in the truck...
That has not made me happy.
I got it serviced and charged last week for (apparently) the first time in it's 200K+, and drove all over the place without an issue that day, and the rest of the week.
But, I did need to connect a wire I have left off when I rebuilt the E-Fan controller - that connects to the AC coil, so the electric fan runs when AC is on.
I had it connected to the Mag Clutch relay in the fuse box, because the wire on the condensor was hard as hell to get to. But, Sunday, I went under, unplugged it, verified what I was looking for, and finally gave up trying to tap it there - simply not enough slack in the harness and no room to work. Plugged it back in....
I was using a terminal off the relay tab, and it was kind of flaky, so I firmed it up - tested it - and put it back in service.
Started it up, and that doesn't smell good! Checked everything, took the fan wire off again, and just checked the AC only.
Warm air, and the LED on the cab switch blinks......
Looked up the issue - most common is the relay, and I used to have a spare.... Ordered it.
Put some paint mark on the compressor, it doesn't spin.
Went under this morning, sprayed the heck out of the plug with contact cleaner, and make FIRM contact back on the compressor...
    Test drive, same thing.
Testing with new relays that came today, tomorrow.
Since that connector is on the Clutch Speed Sensor, and that's the ONLY thing that I really touched that hasn't been, I have one on expedited order.
Mark the clutch and condensor with a paint pen. Go from there.....
Glad it's not a hot week!

Thank you. I bought another one-pound can! Stuff comes in handy "when you need it". Especially for those times when you are working solo and need a third hand!

WOW. And I thought I was the only one in Texas that owned a pair of "Safety Wire" pliers. Small world.
