Btw you do not have to remove your bumper to install this insert. I did the whole job without loosening the fender flares or removing my bumper. They really need to revise the instructions. Anytime you remove parts you risk damaging them, scratching, broken clips, etc.
They have you do a bunch of work needlessly.
Read through the threads on here. I have detailed it pretty well. Remove the center plastic, grill and air dam. Mark and make your cut, remove crash bar easily after the cut is made then install the Hiline insert.

    Work in progress...
The stock bumper and parts weigh about 12 pounds.

I'm a bit late to this thread, but what light bars are yall using for your hiline bumpers? First one I bought doesn't quite fit the pre-welded mounting spots and I want the light as close to the cutout as possible. Thanks in advance!

I like the look of the black series from RC, glad to know they fit well. Looks like they use the same mounting hardware as some "universal" mounts on Amazon, gonna try a $10 mount swap and see if that works, maybe save myself a few dozen bucks.

I installed the Rough Country Black Series 20 inch dual row light bar with amber DRL. Perfect fit and did not interfere with the install of my Smittybilt winch. 20210324_152415.jpg 20210324_201202.jpg 20210324_202124.jpg

Lots of folks recommending the RC Black kit. Will pick one up if my mounting bracket swap doesn't work out. Thanks!

Sooooo, how did you wire it? I have the same thing, and trying to find a way to tie into my actual DRLs, so the light bar DRLs come on automatically. Took it to a few places, with no luck so far. Emailed RC and havent heard back yet. The harness they provide is beefy, but the switch that comes with it is not.

I use the below switch. It stalled it on the left side of steering wheel below the cubby hole. It has 5 wires and the light bar has 3 if I remember correctly. Spliced them together. Ran the ground to a nut that secures the fuse box under the dash. Left the dash light wire disconnected since the light will remain on if connected directly to the battery. You can connected it to the ignition switch but that above my expertise. The way my buddy and I wired it up there is not back light on the button unless the buttons are switched on. Top button works the lightbar bottom works the DRL.

Okay, so you used a double switch, but have to physically put the DRLs on (with the switch). I'm probably just going to go this route. One tech I talked to said i could potentially T Tap into the truck's DRLS, but you're right, the RC switch only has three wires. Basically LED-Off-DRL. So not sure how to make it work. thanks for the info. Appreciate it.

    I pulled trigger.

I'm no welder, but I see nothing wrong with this bumper. Ordered Thursday, received today. Will mount later this week.

Did you make your own wire harness for this? I decided I can't live with the hole in the bumper, so I might as well fill it......

If anyone has a pic of the "pigtail" this bar comes with, I'd appreciate seeing it....

    Thanks!
