Thanks man, but unfortunately it's way more of a clunk than just a knock. I can feel it in my feet, like something bigger shifts. It only happens going forward, when I hit the brakes, the nose dips, and then the clunk happens as the truck rebounds. And only going forwards, not reverse

I won't be picking up my truck for another month or so or I would definitely be in for this meet up. First Tacoma and only my 2nd pickup ('87 s10 being my first ever vehicle). This looks like a must visit and well worth the 2 hour trip north. Maybe this summer and do some camping with the kiddo.

Yeah I'm pretty positive it's the front. I feel like the UCA have a tiny bit of play, I'll try to take a video later to show how much. Thank you!

I actually just replaced my passenger caliper, and both rotors, the noise happened before and after. However I will torque them down to double check, thank you! I'm hoping to put together a list of stuff just like this for later

I just really don't want to break down 180 miles from home lol. But it would be somewhat fun to do my first real trail repair with friends!

I read through your post and the note of “happens in Neutral and drive” is important.
Generally if you feel the issues in the floor or seat, it is drivetrain or rear end related.
If you feel it in the steering wheel it is front end.
Check your caliper mounting brackets bolts as well as your caliper mounting bolts. Check you control arms bushings, body mounts/bushings check that your trans mount is good as well

I could swear it comes from the front but I ONLY feel it in my feet. But that could just be something right below them, right? I'll have a coworker recreate it and I'll listen, or vice versa. Currently making a list of things to check the torque on, so far I'm at

    Alignment cams
    Caliper bolts
    Lower ball joint
    TOp hats
    LCAs
    UCAs

Thank you so much everyone, I'm so sorry to derail this thread!

Dumb question, can I literally just lay under the truck and wiggle it?

Goddamn it guys. Cam bolts were not at 100 ft lbs but of course it moved a little and now the alignment is probably bad. And I just did the 'lifetime alignment' like 2 weeks and I think it's only every 6 months

there it is. but if they tightened them incorrectly they should realign and tighten correctly for free
