I am new to owning any truck and I just purchased the OEM bed liner for the gen 3. Is that sufficient or do y'all recommend a spray-in liner? Thank you! (DCSB with tri-fold tonneau)

You should be good with just the bed mat

    Careful with bed liners.

They have a tendency to collect grit between the liner and the bed, then vibrate a little while driving. Essentially, acting like a big slow speed sander.

Take the liner out every few months to rinse the grit off the bed and the liner.

Assuming you mean the OEM bad mat, it does a good job of keeping things from sliding around.

What would you be trying to accomplish with spray liner?

Rubber mat to keeps stuff from sliding around, plus composite bed seems to alleviate any need for a spray in liner. Dings in the bed aren’t going to rust, so there’s really nothing to gain from doing it- I thought I remember reading someone who did spray a liner had issues with it adhering to the bed material.

    No.

    Composite beds don't need liners

(Yeah, sorry - bed mat) Just trying to preemptively protect from any issues like rust, scratches, etc. I get that it's a truck, but it's also my new baby so I'm trying to find that balance between using it and not beating the crap out of if for the sake of doing so.

Nothing needs to be done to protect from rust - the bed is entirely composite plastic and can't rust even if you scratch and gouge it.

I found a Toyota mat on amazing for 109 for something. That will be the 2nd purchase after a bed cover.

You can usually get them for 80 if you buy directly from parts.toyota.com and also usually with free shipping. I got mine for 60 on this site from another member, gently used. Az doesn't always have the best prices on these things.

Out there I found one at Toyota for more. I’ll look at others and see if I can get for cheaper.

I ordered mine from camelback toyota parts in phoenix. I am local so I was able to just go pick it up. paid $83 bucks new for the OEM one. I found one on Amazon for 109 shipped free because I thinking shipping from camelback was like $39 or something. If you just go into your local dealer and show them the camelback price online they will typically match it. Most parts guys tend to be cool about it unless the boss is standing there hovering over their shoulder.
