Seams to be holding up well enough so far. This summer will definitely be the torcher test. Az heat is no joke.
All in all i have about 12 hours "i work slowly "and about 250 in materials to complete the insulation and carpeting.

    @chrslefty

I went with velcro on my headliner/carpet so I could remove it if necessary. So far it's alright.

Unrelated: If those are the gray harbor freight jack stands, there was a huge recall due to them potentially dropping vehicles on people. You should return them for full price to your local harbor freight if that's the sort of thing that concerns you! You can see if yours are part of the recall here: https://www.nhtsa.gov/press-releases/consumer-advisory-harbor-freight-jack-stands

Thanks I'm aware of the recall .the ones that they exchanged were worse.I make sure to keep a eye on the seems/welds.
Thats a good idea using velcro.

The stands are 12t which are not part of the recall but i did just check my 6tons and they were not part of the recall batch.
    Thanks for looking out.

Hah! I've thought about getting the shell and truck vinyl wrapped but I think that's a distant, okay-now-my-truck-is-rotting-through kinda thing.

So far so good. Ran into a hitch with some of my wiring. Galvanic corrosion is REAL. Hope to get the last of the carpeting done on the inside today. I got lazy for a while and switched to platform building.

I soldered some of my connections not thinking about it. They were apparently dissimilar wire materials and they corroded straight through in less than a year. I thought my light had given up the ghost but when I unwrapped the connections to test continuity they just fall apart. Wire nutted them this time with some dielectric grease. We'll see if it holds up but it was a quick fix.

How tall is this shell? I have the same truck and I'm debating between sizes.

    Sorry about the delay.
I measured 29" that's at the tall flat part just behind the cab.
That's just the shell not including the rack.

Perfect. Thank you. The next taller option they have is 36". Do you think that would be too tall? I like how yours looks but having more space to sit up would be good too

So I can sit up in mine....sort of. Lol
I can sit on the floor and sit up straight no problem. I can mostly sit up on the bench. When my bed is made I'm unable to, but it's not super claustrophobic either. If you look in my build you can see the bed setup.
Functionality the taller topper is going to give you more room , but your gonna take a pretty big hit on you aro, esthetically.....well I think mine is even pushing it.
Have you seen @Phessor shell?? His has a similar hight as mine but has the angle/slant at the front which makes it look better and probably helps with the wind a bit too.

Ok. I'm probably shorter than you so might be able to sit up on my bed setup. The top of the mattress is at the top of the bed rails.

I haven't been able to find anyone with a 36" tall one, but it does seem like it would look ridiculous. I have a GFC on mine now and it's about the same height as yours, but it's very short inside when the top is not popped up. I use it more closed than I do open so I'd like to swap it with something I can at least sit up in.

I was looking at the slant ones also. I think the box looks better actually, but the slant would definitely get better gas mileage.

I'm still deciding what I want to do, but if I end up selling it I will let you know.
