DUDES. Just got the KDMAX 87 tune and it made me dial back the Maggy plans with less than 2 hrs behind the wheel. No more laggy down shifting (can hardly feel the 6-4, or 6-5 downshift, it’s just RPMs now), way better OD usage on the highway, proper gears in town and it eliminates the dead feeling throttle. No more stomping to the ground and counting to 2 before it goes somewhere. So far it fixes 95% of the complaints I have with this thing.

Now for some front body mounts..

    So I have to ask....

If a tune makes it so much more better in all aspects, why didn't Toyota tune it this way from the factory?

...I generally think of the Toyota engineers to be top notch, so it seems that there has to be a downside. Longevity?

Somethings to consider about factory they have to tune it for specific emissions requirements that may not be the best for drive ability of the vehicle. Also consider that with modifications can change the dynamic of the vehicle as well.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Merely MPGs and getting it out the door. You would like to think that Toyota is putting in the R&D to squeeE every bit out of there stuff...that’s just not the case. The difference in the way it drives is nuts with the tune. Makes me think what else can be unleashed.

in a nutshell they went went a motor that was being used for other applications and didn’t put the time in to see how the truck was going to operate with more than one person in it and slightly larger tires.
From the dealership in its stock form the truck definitely had something, cause it tev’d up so high. But they dropped the ball on the trans shift points all together.
    Then just released it.

I recently got a tune from Rich @Stormpeacock for the 89 octane. It is the most recent tune he has built up. In fact, he put a tune on my truck and then he went to the Dyno with the same Tune and tweaked it further. I had him re-tune it to see the difference it made.
You need to come drive this thing man, I mean with all my shit on it, it really a drives better than when it was new...way better.

OVtune is just now releasing beta testing and access to start building true 3-way map switching in tunes. I think D, ECT, and 4lo.
Hopefully we'll be able to get into this and push it into release soon. With further development we should be able to do something special. Ill keep y'all posted on these developments and be able to update folks once its all tested and viable.

Looking for gear recommendations. I need to finally get a quality and BRIGHT rechargeable flashlight. My uses would be mainly working on the cars, but would also use it out in the woods and such.

Whatre y’all using? The best deal I can find right now is the Coast 400R direct from their website for $27 or so.

If it meets your needs, that is cheap.

On a side note, did you ever get a fence?

I get bored at work a lot and ended up doing a lot of research on RTT's from different brands and what not. After a lot of comparing I found out that some to most of the companies are just purchasing them in bulk from China and having them branded from them as well. So I thought maybe cut the middle man and just grab one or a few myself? Some of the manufactures will still sell you one for a great price like this one...
    https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...offerlist.normal_offer.d_title.153f2749JGKS4Y

But of course if you get multiple it does get cheaper. I wanna get a feeling for how many might wanna go in on a batch, and if so what style or size would y'all want? I'm thinking about maybe even just placing an order of 10 and sitting on them till they sell too. Some other person in Georgia did this and it turned out to be pretty successful.

Nice! Looks good! Don't forget to stain it after 30 days. I learned the downfall of not staining a fence the hard way a few years ago. Did you go with the company I recommended? If so, I'm gonna chase them for that referral :D

I actually see a need for this and have considered doing the exact same thing. Ordering a pallet of 10 and selling them out of my garage. Some of the ones on Alibaba even have the CVT logo in the pictures....not sure if that shows that they are supplying the tents to CVT or if they just don't care about accuracy in photos shown. My guess is that they are supplying CVT, but I have no proof of that.

One horror story that I've heard from people ordering through Alibaba is import fees. There is apparently no guarantee of the shipping cost and it could go substantially above the initial quote. Additionally, there can be long hold ups at customs. So if you are quoted $200 for shipping, it could be more like $500+ due to factors beyond your control. Seems stupid to me that in today's day and age we can't get accurate and fixed shipping costs, but I've heard that from more than one source.

Yeah I've matched up a few models I've seen on Alibaba so far with some companies like CVT, and DesertArmor too surprisingly. The manufacture will also brand it with a logo if you want, wouldn't copyright anybody of course, but we could make our own logo or something.

We actually ended up going with a different company out of Lawrenceville; they ended up beating the first several quotes by a large amount and got it done in a little over a day, so it was hard to argue with that.

Dumb question, but what’s the deal with staining? This is my first fence, so I know basically nothing about care/maintenance.

It basically seals the wood. If you don't stain it, it'll be grey in a year and look like it's 10 years old. If you stain it, you'll extend the life of it by up to 10 years. As you know, it isn't a cheap investment and the cost of lumber is only going to increase.

Don't spray stain it either...that just ends up looking splotchy and terrible. Get a gallon of stain and a roller with extended handle and go to town. You'll be glad that you did. If you don't like the look of stain, get one in a natural wood color.

I assume you’d have to seal both sides; how did you do the side with the horizontal runners and posts?
