Post ride photo shoot. Still loving this setup for ease of use!

Nice to see some other fly fishers on here. Fly fishing is one of my main passions even though I didn't fish much last year. Started early in life in MT for trout, ended up out here (PNW) where saltwater is the main game - salmon and sea run cutthroat trout. Just started dabbling with bass too which is a blast. Even caught a tiger musky on the fly a couple years ago.

Living in Phoenix I have plenty of mountain terrain to ride, but when I'm feeling like I don't want to climb I usually just shoot for race pace laps on my local XC MTB area. It's actually super fun and really easy to do 15mi in an hour or so. Kind of hard to get bored when you're racing the clock.

I think comparing trails in Florida is like arguing over who the tallest midget is. :D

Yeah it's pretty bad. Especially south part of the state. But yeah - that on a hardtail would probably be a lot of fun.

I used to do a 15mi/h pace on my road bike. Got rid of road bike. Gained pounds.

I don't know man I've heard from a few trusted riders that Florida is worth riding (in winter). Apparently those man made features are challenging and way different than what most of us are used to

I'm a fan of The Adventure Stache by Payson McElveen, although it isn't strictly MTB.

My brakes have kind of been sucking lately, just not stopping the way they should (Saint 4 pots/XTR Levers/Metallic Pads, 203/180 Icetechs) so after a bleed with no improvement I knew they were contaminated with something. I cleaned rotors with alcohol and sanded pads. Helped a little still not what they should be. Bought new pads :)mad:$80+) but saw mixed info on if contaminated rotors could be salvaged. Happy to say that after taking the rotors off and cleaning them with Dawn in the sink, and then cleaning again with alcohol they are like new. Burned them in last weekend in DuPont/Pisgah so I'm all ready for @jjones.yota Knoxville s̶a̶u̶s̶a̶g̶e̶ride-fest in couple weeks.

You are supposed to take the gloves off BEFORE your PRD wiping. Rookie move.

You can torch your pads, not sure I would risk high heat on my rotors for fear they may warp.

Does the oven even get hot enough to burn off the oils. I’m fairly sure it doesn’t get hot enough to make the rotors bend though.
