Truck just cut out

I was driving down the road. Was at a stop light went to press the gas and clutch it just cut out on me. so I tryed starting and no go. i pushed it into a parking lot and disconnected the battery still no go. Any idea what might have happened.

 

I'd start with primary fuses (fuel pump, ignition, injector) for a blown one

What does the gas gauge read? Very possible its not reading correctly and you simply ran out of gas. Im seeing more and more older 2nd Gen Tacos and FJ with fuel level sending units failing to read correctly as it nears the empty level

 

Check all fuses, crank position sensor might have gone out too.

 

I just filled up on friday and it says full. When i have the key in the ignition i see 4x4 low and 4x4 high.

 

I will check tommorrow.

 

plug in a scanner and pull the DTC's

so I had a shop look at it and could not figure it out. But I have no power locks, no power windows, The truck wont turn over. I am thinking a fuse was blown. Will check to tomorrow through the manuel and see what fuse i need to check.

All of them. Use a ohm meter to check resistance.

 

I’m going to guess the 140 amp alternator fuse is blown. It unbolts from the bottom of the fuse box. The 50A J/B goes to power windows and the 50A AM1 is used for staring circuit. Unlikely both of those are blown individually.

If the heater, Stop Lights, Fog Lights etc aren't working also then it is probably the Alt Fuse 140 or 160 Amps. If it is just the Power Windows and Locks Power outlets and Tails it is more likely the 50 amp JB fuse.

 

well it was alternator fuse.
