For those of you running dual battery setups in your Tacoma with DC-DC chargers care to share any pictures and thoughts on your setups?

I am looking at options for long weekend (3-4 day) camping excursions where I would be running lights, small electrical devices, charging phones and POSSIBLY running an ARB/Dometic fridge.

I am aware a VSR system like is offered by Genesis or OTG would be another option, but I am not crazy about the smart alternator not fully charging the auxiliary battery. I also like the option of solar charging that can be made possible by certain DC-DC chargers.

    Thanks.

I'm sporting a dual battery set up with Ctek D250se DCDC charger and a solar panel. After over thinking the hell out of it, this whole thing was built to power a 75 qt fridge.

Are you powering anything else off of it?

Any regrets or changes you would make if you had it to do over again?

Thus far it was only used for the fridge. Winch and off road lights are powered from main battery.
I'm thinking of connecting CB and GMRS radios to aux battery, as well as whatever camping/convenience Lights If my build will get that far. We'll see.

So far "No ragrets"!! As of changes, this whole thing is still a work in progress , so changes are possible as work progresses.
Now, I bought Ctek instead of RedArc 1225 due to availability and also because a) I've seen someone else making it work the way I wanted it, and b) because of wrong schematics I've seen on interwebs regarding connecting a solar panel. I was wrong about it, as it connects the same way.

Not sure what you want to do, but it's entirely possible to make this whole thing Way easier by purchasing a portable power station like Jackery (1000) or something similar, and plugging in a solar panel to it ( @fatfurious2).

Edit. Here's a link in dual battery thread to what my stuff looks like

    Thanks Again. I appreciate it.

I am planning of running camp lights, some small 12v accessories and likely a fridge in the future.

OP Give me 6 more months and I can share what mine will look like. I am in the process of gathering supplies. I plan on going with Victron though due to their smart connections.

    Mine is:

Stock ship's battery. Truck is less than a year old, so that will eventually be replaced with something beefier.

Overland Equipped aux bus with Blue Sea fuse block.

Off Grid Engineering ship's and aux battery mounts, Full Throttle group 35 aux battery and Redarc BCDC1225D MPPT controller.

Cascadia 4x4 85W hood solar panel. Not installed yet -- been waiting for the weather to cooperate and line up with having a couple of friends help out. My use case is just to have it keep ship and house batteries topped off -- not really to power things continuously.

Pics are early stuff from the install. It's all functional now.

how’s your set up going? I was actually thinking of this same set up to have a charging station for my drone and cameras.
From my research the Leitner GearBox is not waterproof.
