    Hi all,
trying to find out if this is possible...
have contacted local and national Toyota contacts with no success.

    2009 6speed manual.
I just went from the stock 3.73s to 4.30s.
    285/70/17s
    2nd gen 6th gear is .849
    3rd gen 6th gear is .713

    100kph(62mph) with 3.73s in 6th is 2050rpm
    100kph(62mph) with 4.30 in 6th is 2400rpm

    My question is;
does anyone know if one can swap the .713 gear from a 3rd gen into a second gen?
I've talked to Toyota and they can't answer the question. I'm looking to get whatever pertinent information about thickness/diameter/whatever is relevant to this to be able to help a gear shop figure out if this is possible. Supposedly, the transmission doesn't even need to be dropped, just the transfer case; supposedly.
Anyone know the answers about this? Or, can anyone put me in to right direction?
I'd like to get my rpms down a bit for the highway.

    Thanks,
    Barrett

You can also swap in the FJ cruiser's 6th gear from their RA60 it has a slightly better overdrive ratio.

AFAIK the RA62 uses different shafts from the RA60 and thus the gears won't fit.

So you can be the 2nd person to swap a RA62 into their truck or go thr FJ/t56 route.

If 4x4 and you go t56 you will need a divorced atlas case and custom drive shafts.
