These are on 18x10.5 and the previous owner stated it would fit 295/40R18 with no major rubbing. I believe the second photo with the back window sticker is on the 295's he previously had on the truck. F291F002-350B-41F9-A9A5-E9DB0A3088EF.jpgD7362FB6-D6A2-43BD-834E-7588C019A873.jpg

Ok, I was going to say, no way the sidewall in the pictures is a 60. The truck looks awesome by the way! Do you have a build thread?

Sadly I don't, I actually bought the truck the way it sits. I do know the current setup though, and I will be changing it up for the big turbo build it's getting. I use this site on mobile only, so writing up a build thread is a bit of a process. Some day I'll sit down at a computer and set it up!

My 06 taco is officially signed up for our first autocross of the year on may 16, classed for STU due to wheel and tire size and suspension mods.

Get that practice in before adding the boost. I and others would love to see some videos too!

I think it will be nearly unusable for autocross with the turbo setup, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I do plan to hit the 1/4 mile with it, but as far as road tracks... nearest one is down in NH and I can't imagine what it would take to get it road course ready

I'm on feal coilovers in the front, it would be a matter of 3 or 4 linking the rear end to do away with the lowering blocks.

4x4 leaf springs will give you a little more drop, than yours. If yours are the same as the XR ones. However, they used to be much softer, which was no Bueno for tracking.

I have ridden in a 4 linked XR. Man that felt far more planted and smooth than the leaf setup.

I am on 4x4 leafs and a 5 inch drop block. I want to go down to a 3 in block and pick it up an inch in the front, it's rough daily driving this around Maine this low.

I complete forgot to update in here with how busy Friday and yesterday was. Autocross yesterday went well! Everyone loved seeing a truck out there.

On my second run my battery tie down snapped in half, which let the battery slide over into the power steering pulley. It rubbed through the side of the battery and spilled acid all over my engine bay. Big thanks to one of the members who tossed me the keys to his Miata and said "Quick! Get to the parts store!" And off like a flash I went. One new battery and tie down later, I was back up and running for the second half of the day.

Time wise the Tacoma was about 2 seconds off most of the miatas, which is partially due to poor suspension setup and partially due to lack of racing experience with the truck. Many people were surprised by how well it did overall, especially since I managed to not loop the truck around.

Just leaving home now for day two, looking forwards to another fun time! 78705C7E-8FD5-4FED-AC3F-A33870730423.jpg

Man. What a cool time and good people! Keep it up, do some proper suspension mods, and you'll really make some good improvements in time.

A watts link or panhard bar will greatly help. What mods are you thinking of for next?

I don't think I'm really going to make much adjustment besides raising the front an inch and taking a degree or two of camber out of the front. The rear of the truck was really well planted every run, I just couldn't get the front to turn in for anything. I slid through at least three turns from the under steer and hit cones.

So at the end of the weekend, everything made it home under its own power. I killed my front tires from a combination of daily driving with camber and autocrossing on concrete, roommate corded all four of his RE-71r's on the fiata. We knew they were getting down there after 8 events, so no big surprise there. I'll be getting another two tires exact same as what's already on there, and maybe looking into better brake pads and rotors. Also a new power steering pump since it kept crapping out on me going through the slaloms. Hope everyone had a good day! @2Runner did you have any issues with under steering when you ran your truck?

Are the front shocks adjustable with the dampening? If so, a little softer would help.

PS fluid old, or overheated? Or is the pump failing?
