People are paying over asking price around my area, but people are having to pay that extra amount in cash because appraisals are coming in lighter than the agreed sales price. The purchaser is taking on that liability and not the bank. Housing is nuts right now. Glad we made our move in the first quarter of 2020.

    A few.
Has anyone used Vroom and actually went through with the sale? Im wondering if its good since they send u a check by Fed ex 3 days after picking up the vehicle. Once they have it they could deduct off the price they gave coming up with reasons to do so.

I have the same concerns. I have been doing more research on this and overall haven't seen much of them doing this. The person picking up the truck will review it and once you receive their sign off they will send the check. Still, the idea of signing my title over before they even pick the truck up is a serious question. The biggest part is, to be honest with describing the vehicle and its features. Should be good then as from what I've seen they don't try to nickel and dime you after their quote.

there is no way i'd let my vehicle out of my sight before getting paid. so they will have your truck and title while you have nothing?. then they can deduct from their offer?? oh hell no. not gonna happen here... pay me before you take the vehicle.

I got them to match the trade with “tax savings”. Saves me the hassle of dealing with carvana so I went with it.

I had a Milwaukee dealer match the Tacoma trade and replacement car cost of what I was shopping on Carvana- ended up keeping the truck because I couldn’t talk myself into going back to a Subaru (and ended up ordering a camper shell to bump up the “dry” storage in the Tacoma for family excursions- outback I was looking to get didn’t gain us enough over the forester my wife drives). In either doing the whole trade/buy with caravana or the local dealer I’d get the tax savings. It’s worth a call to your local dealers for sure!

I recently sold, waiting pickup of my 5 series BMW. I was actually shocked at what they offered me for the car. The process seemed really easy and Saturday the car is gone. A friend at work has sold a few cars with Carvana, and he said one time they paid him more for the car when new, as some of you are saying. Carvana is trying to squeeze out the used car dealer lots.

Sold a 2019 4Runner to Vroom in December. Took forever to get it all completed. Almost 3 months total. Beat every trade in by over $3,000. Hard to say if all the hassle was worth it though.

Yes. When I toyed with the idea of trading the taco for a new Ram 2500 Cummins about eight weeks ago, I negotiated the purchase price on the truck then showed them both the Autonation and Carvana offers and they accepted it on the spot. The KBB trade value on their website was considerably less. In the end I kept the taco.

I wouldn’t give them truck and title w/o the cash and final documents. Not going to happen.

I sold my old TRD sport through Vroom and can confirm it is legit. They handled the remaining loan with my bank and overnighted me a check that day. Honestly was a stupid easy process.

    CARMAX HAS MY TACO NOW
Carmax now does online offers instead of just in person. They came in at $39.6k for my 2020 ORP DCLB w/ 25k miles. Of course there's a big ass asterisk next to the offer but that beats my last in person offer by about $6,600. Probably going to take it there this weekend to see where they are really at.

Carvana gives you a check before the leave, I’d rather do that.

Yep, Its the lack of nanny features, but not hit or miss like the 2016s were.

They all will "match" the offer when you trade in. Guess how they do that ;-)

Took about 2 weeks to get my money. Another week to pay off my bank note. Then they kept having problems losing the lien release. Pretty much had to do their job for them.

I confirmed my sales price of $37,880 with Carvana a few days ago and locked in the drop off date. For s&g, I input my car's info again just now without signing in and got $38,200. Anyone have this happen and deal with this? The difference isn't a deal breaker, but $320 is $320...
