Yeah seems like they have had delay after delay, first steel shortage now hardware is taking a while. Today was exactly 9 weeks from my order and I haven't seen any shipping notifications. Emailed them and they were waiting on hardware to be delivered so they could ship it out. They told me mine would ship last Thursday when their hardware delivery was supposed to be, but I haven't seen any shipping detail emails yet.

I get it, lots of things are more difficult to come by with the whole pandemic thing going on. I have heard of metal shortages nationwide too. I know other tcomaworld vendor fab shops have been having much longer lead times than Explore Overland has. I now their posted wait times were 4-6 weeks but I figured it would be longer seeing what other shops were experiencing. My excitement to receive mine is driving my "awe man, still not shipped?" which isn't helping things move any faster by any means.

    Hey Jordan!

I'm so sorry for the delay. It's hurting everyone! So I reached out to our fabricators and was told yours will ship out early next week. I'm working on building a better bridge between sales (me, in Georgia) and Fabrication (out in NY). We also hired a new welder who is crazy talented so orders will hopefully move out much quicker.

We went back and forth on the proposed lead time based on estimated sales but we have been blown away with the support from not only the Tacoma community but Lexus, FJ, T4R and Tundra. Some of our materials were redirected to Govt contracts and infrastructure. COVID has made for some odd times.

Again I apologize for the delay. We had an automated email that went out but it looks like it didn't work as designed. I will call the shop Tuesday to get another status for you and I'll send you a PM. Thank you though for posting and reaching out. You can always PM me directly and I'll get you info usually same day. Have a great week!

Yeah like I have said I am not worried about it, seeing the delay on all the other shops around tacomaworld I completely anticipated 4-6 weeks would be a lot longer than that. I reached out to them last week like I said and I get it. I'm working on putting an order together to start my trailer build and steel seems to be hit pretty hard from all the places I have called.

Hey, I just got my sliders and my hardware, I'm now waiting on installation instructions. Are sliders standardized so any slider installation manual will work? Or is it just unbelievably simple and I'm just an idiot?

Hey Tyler. I just had the shop owner call you. He left a message. We'll get you squared away. Either him or myself can walk you through it.

Here you go. I picked up my set last night. Nice welds and they are very beefy. I’m very happy with how far back they come toward the back tire. I had two holes that were slightly off and had to waller them out to get it aligned to the frame. Not a huge deal, it could be because my truck is a 21 and maybe Toyota changed the frame slightly.

Yeah a few of us have noted we never got the notice. I don't think it worked as they had planned.

We make Sliders and armor for everything Lexus and Toyota. Between the steel shortage and the overwhelming amount of orders we did get slammed!

We have a new shop and new welders. We don't outsource. An email went out to everyone but it may be in the junk folder. Anyone who reaches out to me directly I get back to them the same day.

We sure are working our tails off! If anyone ever needs a status just reach out to me and I'll get it done. Thank you everyone for the continued support and patience!

@rain76king I put a status request in for you as soon as I saw your post here. I will get you a response ASAP.. I apologize for the delay. I really do understand what it's like to wait for something you put your hard earned money into.

Separate from sliders we have another team producing armor. We just finished our T4R bumper and have an exciting and affordable concept for Tacoma right around the corner. Again please reach out to me for anything!

    Matt

To back up what @2013XSPX is saying, the wholesale metal market is an absolute shit show right now. I’ve spent the last 15 years as a rep for a distributor that provides material for heavy construction. The biggest in the country, we sell more rebar and other metal bits that go into concrete than anyone. We can not get material. The largest mill that produces wire mesh on the east coast is moth balled right now. I have a two month wait for a truck load of #3 rebar. And I am the mills biggest customer. Good fucking luck if you are a couple guys in a fan shop that need $5k in DOM tubing to build sliders. Even established companies are feeling it, King is something like 30+ weeks out on shocks.

I'm thinking of going for these. I would just drive over for pick up 3 hours each way.
How does one "get in" on the group buy? Just place the order on the link provided on the first page?

Plates of no plates? I'm thinking 10 degrees and "no plates"... Change my mind ;-)

Plates are great if you are gonna do zero degree and use them as steps as well. If your not, it extra weight.

@VTCAL I sent you a PM. Since you're getting that sweet sweet ten degree tuck you won't need the plates.

Absolutely you can pick up at the shop!

Anyone can order direct or through me. If you contact me I can support you better along the way w your ticket.
