Opening a Can of Worms I know, BUT...

My 2016 is making a half squeak half crunch on the driver side front end. I changed the two front mounts by the radiator. I think that was only half of the issue. No more Clunk.

When I turn slowly she cries. When I'm at a stop and I let off and then apply brakes, she cries. When I back out of the driveway in the morning, the 1st think she does when I start to back out is cry, and and when I turn, she cries.
When I'm in motion and just cruising around, she doe not cry.

I know there are a bunch of bushings up in there. I'm just trying to get an idea on where I should start.

Please Advise,

 

Place a GoPro at the front suspension and record what she's doing. For all we know you have a squeaky dog toy caught in the front suspension somehow.

 

Find someone with chassis ears, borrow them and get to listening.

 

Sure, and maybe there's a HUGE DIAMOND lodged up in there as well

 

Tried that.. It's like finding a cricket....

 

Make sure skid plate is tight. That got me once. Also if you have a winch make sure cable is tight after you hook it. If not the winch barrel has just enoigh play in it to rattle and can hear that in the cab. Took me a 3 days to figure thay one out.


Also could be the other body mount bushings. The front radiator ones you already did are the main ones that everybody has issues with, like I did, but the others have been known to fail also

 

Which trim didju get? The millennial edition?

Is it front or rear? My rears were super noisy before fluid film.

If you cant find it with chassis ears, then youre going to be messing with it for a while. Ive never not been able to pinpoint with chassis ears. Just depends on your level of effort, time and ideas of where to place the mics

 

You mention turning. It's a longshot, but have you checked steering fluid level? I had a similar sound when turning sharply and it was low steering fluid.

 

Oh, you meant actual technology.. Hmmm ?

I put myself and one other guy under the truck while moving it back and forth in a parking lot. Not quite the same thing, or as effective apparently... Ha

Reminds of having my buddy ride along with the hood up and he was sitting on the grill with his feet hanging over the front trying to hear the noise we were looking for while rolling througg the hood.

But yes, "chassis ears" are this awesome thing that has about 6 clamp mics that plug into a selector box and plasy throigh headphones. So worth the $100. Ive gotten my money out of then for sure.
