I have come to the conclusion that to fix my brake pedal going almost down to the ground before it activates the brakes I need to put a spacer in between the push rod and master cylinder. Anyone have any ideas on how to make one. I have a lathe and full metal shop at school.

    Everything about this seems wrong.

I feel like this is a dangerous band-aid to cover up a different underlying cause.

Have you tried bleeding the brakes? BTW, it's pedal not peddle.

This! Figure out why your brakes aren't functioning correctly. Do they need bleeding? Does your ABS module need bleeding? Failed power booster (Unlikely in this case), or failed master cylinder? Adding a spacer to the equation is a good way to wind up un-alive very quickly.

Yes, and potential legal problems if a forensics exam were had and someone also discovered this thread.

That peddle has too many burnouts under its belt.

We kid, but seriously, don't stick a spacer in the pedal. Working on brakes is somewhat simple but if you don't know how, DON'T DO IT. Take it to a shop.

I'm afraid to say more considering what's at stake. You could die, or worse kill some innocent woman walking her 4 year old across the street.

Just when the burn out thread disappeared. Our savior returned with another questionable thread and even more questionable choices. Here we go:locked:

So far I have replaced all of the brake lines into stainless steel brake lines, new master cylinder and new brake power booster, replaced all the fluid over 10 times with doc three and four to see if it made any difference, new pads rotors drums and shoes, and adjusted the rear shoes, bleed abs module and master cylinder 2x.

Did you bleed the lines and know what you’re doing? (Being serious). If you really were mashing the brake to do burnouts, did you bend the shit out of it so it’s closer to the floor?

I bought the truck with the same exact issue it’s not that anything in the pedal is bent it just has a dead space where nothing happens when you press down the pedal. I’ve bled the brakes multiple times and I’ve taken it to two different shops to bleed the brakes. I’ve used a couple different methods to bleed the brakes too.

It sounds like a legitimate brake issue then. I’d take it to a Toyota dealership and tell them everything you have done. If they can’t fix it, don’t pay them.
