That's just a corporate not-even-going-to-touch-it shenanigans policy. I never go to a big shop for inspection - my last inspection was at a shenanigans place in Pawtucket, dude didn't even turn on my lights just plugged it in to the computer and good to go.

My tires were close to worn but otherwise I was good to go, but damn dude! That was before they started the video recordings though - don't know if they still do inspections, either way, if I need to do one again that'll be where I go.

With the rest of the truck (no offense Rich :D) yeah that would probably be totaled. That's shenanigans.

But @Skierrichy talk to a PDR place first they might be able to yank it.

Edit just looked at the picture more on my computer now, WTF how did they pull that off!? Honestly I'm a little impressed. What were they doing?! Something had to have fallen on the truck or was above it when they lifted it somehow.

After following this on a few threads, I will say with 100% confidence that they crushed it into something when raising the lift. Guy didn't know or just pretended it didn't happen, they returned to Rich and probably didn't even know it was there until he complained.

It's fucked. And where its fucked, is gonna be hard to replace. Not sure about making a huge public stink, but I think it shouldn't be accepted.

Ironically, a friend runs an inspection station and from what I understand they aren't supposed to do that. If you are there for an inspection and they see an issue, they aren't supposed to turn you away or offer to fix in advance, they're supposed to take it in and fail it. He got in trouble because a state person came in for an inspection with a bad brake light bulb and he swapped it for them before running through the inspection as crazy as that is.

That's a good deal! I just have a cheap trifold TonnoPro on mine. I usually take it off for the summer so I have room for the ATV, but I may put it back on now that I have the trailer.

What are your stock tires? Mine are Hankook Dynapro AT2s which I'm actually pretty happy with so far.

Oooh, those are nice tires. Mine are Michelin Primacy XC. Never heard of them before but they aren't very aggressive. Ride real nice on the highway though.

You probably got 20's, mine are 18's.

I feel like those are a club tire? Like Sam's or Pep Boys or similar. Not necessarily bad, but the club tires typically don't have the usual Michelin lifespan

I don't know, it's what seems to come on the Lariats when you don't get the 20's. They have about 30k on them and they will need to be replaced before the fall.

Any stock OE tire is garbage.

I had those on my last F-150 and ditched them after 10,000 miles. Their only redeeming quality was being quiet. I do have 20s.

I like my OE Michelin AT2's :notsure: The Continentals that came on the 18" wheels were shit though.

I won’t lie when I need new tires I will probably just look for more trd or take offs - they’re cheap and they’re not half bad for what I’ve done.

If I do the Canada trip I’ll get some E loads for that though.

Who did you deal with? I have a college buddy that works for Gale Toyota and he’s a good dude, but he’s in sales. Sucks that they gorilla fisted your truck like that!

I just ordered new Continentals for the Camry. They are to replace the Bridgestones that came stock on her car. That plus I've got to get these Nokians off of her car soon.

I just realized how much this ^^^ post sounds like the sale is only on the tires I ordered. It isn't. If anyone is on the fence about getting some tires, go to Discount's site and click on the flash sale to see if the tires you are looking at are eligible.
