I am shopping new sleep bags for the trip next week. Mine are 30 years good. They are still in good shape but are probably only good for summer weather at this point.

My Coleman 0 degree mummy bag served me well on my western trip. It’s not actually 0 degree but I was only uncomfortable when it got below 20. Pretty good price too

 

I’m turning into you with all the mods piled up, I did get the oils changed in the rc and ordered a ecgs bushing.

 

Ive got about 3 or 4 still waiting. Maybe a mod day is in order.

 

Brian how are those LCA’s doing? I was quoted $480 each for OEM.

Moogs are doing fine but they brand new haha. Im going to probably switch to OEM at some point just didnt want to shell out the dough right then and mine needed changing bad!

I got some low miles in better shape than mine that went on my dc, I’ve thought about putting white line bushings and some moog ball joints in my old ones for the rc but that’s still $300 in parts.

Same, and the amount of work to the similar cost of the already done moog lca. Idk I know I gotta get some uca on the rc probably gonna be jba.

Those look neat idk ome made any the only thing I wonder is how easily replaced is that ball joint. I keep holding out for deals trying to stay cheap on the rc lol.

RADAR CHECK: Rain and strong storms are moving along the Alabama Gulf Coast early this morning, and there is some patchy light rain over the northern counties as well. All of this rain will move out of the state by mid-morning, and the sky becomes partly to mostly sunny by late morning, and into the afternoon as drier air arrives. The high today will be in the 67-71 degree range… the average high for Birmingham on April 15 is 74.

TOMORROW AND THE WEEKEND: Clouds return during the day tomorrow ahead of the next wave in the southern branch of the jet stream, and rain moves into the state tomorrow night into Saturday morning. While there could be a few sprinkles during the day tomorrow, it now looks like the main window for rain will come from 6:00 p.m. tomorrow through 12:00 noon Saturday. Some thunder is possible, but no severe thunderstorms are expected. Rain amounts will be generally under 1/2 inch over the northern half of the state, with up to 1 inch for the southern counties. Clouds linger Saturday afternoon, but the rain will be east of the state by then.

Temperatures will remain below average tomorrow and Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 60s. Sunday will feature a partly sunny sky with a high between 65 and 70 degrees.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Both Auburn and Alabama will hold their annual spring scrimmage games Saturday. The game in Tuscaloosa kicks off at 12 Noon… kickoff in Auburn is set for 1:00. Some rain is likely Saturday morning across the state, but that will will be gone by early afternoon. Expect dry, but mostly cloudy weather in Tuscaloosa with temperatures in the 60s. Some lingering light rain is possible around kickoff in Auburn, but most of the game will be rain-free with overcast conditions. Temperatures there will also be in the 60s.

For the Magic City Classic at Legion Field in Birmingham Saturday night (Alabama State vs Alabama A&M… kickoff 6:30p CT)… the weather will be dry with a gradually clearing sky. Temperatures will fall from near 64 degrees at kickoff, into the upper 50s by the final whistle.

ON THIS DATE IN 1998: An F3 tornado hits downtown Nashville causing extensive damage but no loss of life. An additional 62 tornadoes touched down in Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee. These tornadoes caused 12 fatalities and approximately 120 injuries.

ON THIS DATE IN 2011: The “forgotten tornado outbreak”. A total of 45 tornadoes touched down in Alabama. An EF-3 produced a swath of damage in Tuscaloosa County from the community of Ralph, to just south of Veterans Memorial Parkway in Tuscaloosa. Another large EF-3 tornado struck the Myrtlewood-Pinhook communities in Marengo County. Several dozen single-family and mobile homes were destroyed or severely damaged. One person was killed when his mobile home was tossed several hundred feet across Alabama Highway 69.

Another EF-3 tornado moved through the Boones Chapel community in Autauga County. This twister was the third one to affect the same general area for the day, but this one was a killer. Three people were killed and four were seriously injured as the tornado destroyed their mobile home. The event was forgotten by many because of what would happen 12 days later… the generational tornado outbreak of April 27, 2011 that produced 62 tornadoes, killing 252 people in Alabama.

Me too. I didn't like Spann's forecast for next weekend but as he always says things will change when the computer models get closer to the time period and are more accurate.

Im testing my RTT in rain! Ive yet too. On a side note when i was in TN in my ground tent i was in a pretty lound thunderstorm. Rained a little. Never been outside before in a thunderstorm. It was pretty scary but cool at the same time.

 

We've used ours in torrential rain for 48 hours straight. after about 8 hours the seams start getting saturated. This was up near Helen a while back, no thunder just constant, annoying, soaking rain. It never quit and wasn't letting up so we packed it up wet and drove home. I had to open it on a couple of saw horses in the garage so that it could dry. It was awful. I'll be sleeping in the truck if it's a constant rain.
