Is it not recommended to add a SC on high mile engines?

It's less Tacoma and more mod
It's not a hard rule really if maint is good and it's running normally. A little extra ring leakage is a good safety barrier haha. But you don't wanna boost an engine that's a couple thousandths from spinning a rod or main bearing though. Thanfully our engines are the cheapest parts of the trucks these days, suspension parts cost more added up and exterior bits.

Picked up a new daily the other day. 195k miles 5spd. Gonna be swapping a new frame under her in the next week or so. Front pass is buckled beyond repair and a new used frame ran me like 500

I'm making a pseudo frame box kit. It's a balance between interior c-channel support and dimple died box sides. Won't be raising the tank though because I don't intend to rebuild that crossmember and moving it up kills a lot of torsional strength

New fan clutch feels better, but is this still higher than normal for around town? 531D2ED9-3801-45CA-B0DB-4D7BF9D16DFC.jpg

That’s where is was before, now I’m 200-210. Not sure why it shifted. Fluid looks good and was changed 6 months ago.

You mean the trans temp? I'm just going off your photo and the engine/coolant temp shows 190 there.

As far as trans temps go, I wouldn't know being manual

Only way you'll see a big drop in temps is an external cooler. Other wise that's normalish area. If you get over 220 then start worrying. That's bad.
