That's pretty interesting, I wasn't sure if it was a gimmick or not. For $60 a pop I may grab two and put them on either side and hardwire them. I'm still on the stock battery and with my dash camera setup it sucks and doesn't stay above 12.5v for very long so out of caution I may wait to hardwire these until I invest in a new X2Power battery.

Little update for the curious: just talked to the dealer and looking at about $6800 after initial inspection. They're replacing the entire engine harness which is around $4500 alone, both headlights and associated harnesses, fog harness, repairing the TSS harness, and some other stuff. I forgot to ask if that's including labor or not but since it's insurance paying for it I also didn't really care as much.

Dude that was literally my first question when he said new headlights. Unfortunately not possible since they use different harnesses.

All this squirrel talk reminds me I need to check my trap line. Don't worry I only use have a heart live traps, they work for those of us who have a heartless attitude towards rodents too.

It doesn't work at all, they will even eat it. Another old wives tale is Dryer Sheets as they do nothing either.

My indifference disappeared when I found out about the $1000s in damage to my neighbor's house.

I posted that chickenwire porcupine fence above, but hopefully it will work for smaller rodents too. Maybe use a smaller mesh. If you still have to park outside after the repairs, maybe make a corral of sorts using one of those pop-up car shelter frames with wire?

Small rodents can climb over any wire they can't get through :(

Good lord imagine getting stuck with that bill - glad you got it covered by insurance OP.

I've posted this before in other threads regarding the same topic - under our plastic engine covers there is a bit of foam padding - I douse that with peppermint oil every time I change the oil. Seems to be pretty effective so far!
