I’d love to make this, but I’m in Tulsa. After reading through this and other threads on tuning, it’s my understanding that if I get the tune installed I leave with no hardware to be able to flash the truck back to factory tune, thus I’d have to drive to where a tuner is and pay again in order to go back to stock - is that correct?

Any reason the Ecu would forget the tune later down the road? If you replace the battery or anything like that? Or are you good to go once you have it tuned?

Once it is tuned, the only way to go back to stock is to flash it with a computer. New battery won't change it.

I tried looking in earlier posts but I couldn’t find if it was mentioned... but what is the approximate location for the meet?

For one change back to stock I would not charge you, but you would have a drive ahead of you! However, once you're tuned you probably would not want to go back to stock - ever! There is no need to unless you hated the tune - which no one does!

Right now the approximate location in my mind is a Walmart parking lot in the south-central-ish Dallas area. Once the event is a definite go, (10+ trucks) I will get with @PapaRee and @TWTaco and see if they are gonna make it out. If they're unavailable I will still be doing the event, it's really all just dependent on how many trucks we get signed up.
@dangeroso says he might have a location for the event if the day and time are right. After the event is a go, we'll get this stuff situated ASAP.
We will have a date and time set first, and a location either at that time or very soon after. Hopefully mid may, weekend of the 15th or 22nd but nothing set in stone yet!

To reference the number of trucks we need for more than 1 tuner, @PapaRee and @TWTaco are both hosting an event in Arizona this weekend with 60+ Tacomas signed up.

Mark me as a maybe. I’m out of town the weekend of the 22nd. If it’s the prior weekend, I can make it. 6MT. Not looking for more aggressive tip-in, but the other benefits. How does the throttle response on the lightest tip-in tune compare to the stock throttle mapping?

Right on - With greater ease of throttle control with a manual clutch, it seems most MT drivers report liking the more responsive throttle while the AT drivers have mostly reported being more comfortable with the lighter throttle. I will put you on the list tentatively if it so happens we get to the event on the weekend prior. It may possibly be a couple weeks after the 22nd. It's still up in the air until the truck threshold is met.

I'm interested! Toyota Jamboree is the weekend of May 1st so that wouldn't work but other than that it's all good.

Edit: TSB updates installed at the same time as well?

Yessir - TSB updates are common and we can take care of it! Definitely won’t be jamboree week.
I will put you on the list.

*All TSB updates are included in the tune cost if anyone is unclear about this.

OK guys, looks like Saturday May 8th is going to be the day
Specific time and location will be in a few days.

PM me your name and the following truck details (keep it short and sweet for me for organization purposes ):
    • Year
    • ECU ID (if you know it, if not, no problem!)
    • Gear Ratio (stock, 4.88, 5.29)
    • Tire Size
    • Automatic or manual
    • Fuel preference (regular 87-91, or premium 91-93)
    • Do you have an AGM battery?

If you cannot make it on May 8th, we will definitely work something out in the near future.
