I always told myself I'd lift my 2010 and get bigger tires never did. I sold it got a 2014 6 years ago. I've been wanting a lift and a set of man tires for 10 years. Just ordered 5100s and an icon 3 leaf aal. They will be here tuesday. I'm going to go 2" (unless otherwise advised). I have my heart set on nitto ridge grapplers and new rims. 265vs275 nittos only come in 18 and 20 inch rim for 275s. I wouldn't mind 285s if I didn't rub but that seems unlikely?

Been reading for 3 days having a hard time decided on wheels and tires. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Looking for black matte wheels (what do you recommend). What is the biggest nitto Grappler I can fit and not have to to any cutting. I don't offroad. Once or twice I year I might be on a dirt road that's about it.

    Biggest you can fit with no cutting is a 265 70 17 or 265 75 16 (31 x 9.50)

I recommend SCS wheels they're proven tough stylish and the fit and finish is top notch, plus Vin seems to be genuinely a good guy.

"Man tires"... yes... because small tires are for girls. /S

If you don't plan to utilize the capability of such mods why waste the money?

If you really just like the looks I suppose that's justification enough but again you'll have to cut or at least trim something with a larger than 265 or 31" tire.

You will also need either spacers (do not recommend) or upper control arms to run the 275 and still probably some trimming of the fenders or liners at least.

Lift will not change the size of the wheel well. At compression the wheel still needs to stuff into it.
Not sure if your just looking for big tires or for your tires to stick out for look?
    A 265/75/16 is 31.6 tall and 10.4 wide.
Pending wheel offset they can be flush or stick outward.
A lot of owners here run 265/75/16 on stock without issues.
Buddy at work did 265/75/16 ko2 on his 04 taco and tires rub the frame.
My 265/75/16s had little clearance on my base 08 ac rubbed flaps but no issues in the 12 off road dcsb.

Here's my truck with your proposed 5100s (3rd notch), 1.5" AAL, and 265/75r16 with 16x8 wheels with 4.5" backspacing. It's not a great picture, but it's the only one I have at the moment:

The order of mods were tires->lift->wheels

I didn't have any rub with tires on stock wheels and no lift, but I will say that the added backspacing with the new wheels after the lift made the truck drive a ton better.

Eh, not to rain on your parade, but if I didn't use mine offroad a lot, I wouldn't have lifted it, and I'd have stuck with regular light truck tires. No real problems, but it's definitely not the same truck as it was stock. Still nice, just a bit less civilized.

I read "biggest" here a ton, and almost always see 265/70/17 or 265/75/16 listed as the "biggest" you can run without trimming. That may be the widest tire that will fit but I have 255/75/17, bone stock for 2 years, with no issues and that is a taller tire. I'm on the .85" notch now in front and am happy. With 2" I'd be willing to bet 255/80/17 would be fine too

Are you planning on your front lift to come from just preloading the 5100's on their highest notch? Not upgrading the front springs? If you're paying a shop to install the lift just spend the extra $200 and get actual aftermarket springs to lift the front and leave the 5100's on the bottom notch. I paid $200 for my OME 883's but if you want a full 2" then go for the 884's... same price. You've waited this long to do it, might as well get the lift and have the ride quality stay nice as well. As far as wheels, i think my favorites (outside of SCS) are just the TRD Sema wheels.

Congrats @packrobottom That's exciting to get to pull the trigger on something you've wanted for so long. I only wheel my truck a few times a year so my lift rarely gets used but I love having it on the truck. If it brings you a smile it's worth the cost.

    Have you considered skinny 33?

    255 85 16
    255 80 17

No cutting or trimming required and it'll look good on your 2" 5100

The trd Toyota rims. They are 5mm offset which seems to be the sweet spot. And they are lightweight rims.

    I'm curious.......

Please define "a set of man tires"?

Are these square, hexagon, hard edges......worn out, lopsided.......

    All for cosmetics??
