    Yes sir, and that's after welding them more than once to make them where I don't have to grind them. I can't stand doing these parts.

    I can imagine. I have one of my welders fighting some cracking welds right now. I’ve got 32 pieces of hardened drill bushings being welded into hot rolled steel. Seems the expansion rate of the 2 materials is causing the welds to crack anywhere between 5 seconds, and 5 minutes of being welded.
    Almost like we need @DLRIII kiln to temper them as they cool!

    I've never had good results from welding anything hard, it always cracks. Good luck!

    slow post cooling might be the trick if it is practical add to the cost

    We all do those things now and then.

    My best was trying to weld Aluminum to steel trying to build a grill at home out of random scrap.

    I just could not figure why it was not welding
