I think rather than trying to bondo/paint the holes in the roof, I'm just going to get some little half inch plugs, paint them the right color and adhere them in place with some RTV inside to seal them off. I think a few color matched plugs will look better than a DIY bondo body work repair job tbh

With the exception of the bed liner, I'd like to know what this guy did with all the holes in his 4R -

    2.jpg

Fortunately, 4R's have less than half as many as say...a Landcruiser.

Forget what model it was, but one had like 92 clips to remove?

Damn yeah that looks clean AF. I wonder if he found plugs that had no cap so they sat completely flush.

I was something like these, painted radiant red to match. Each hole (4 on each side) is 1/2" big, but these have a top to them so they'd stick up a little.

I know they'll still be obvious to the eye but will look cleaner I think than my trying to do bondo body work and blend paint to match, just feel like somehow that's going to end up looking worse lol.

The nice thing about having a top to them though is it would make them less likely to leak, being on the roof especially I don't want that happening

Yeah, that did the trick on my 99 when I had that issue.

The fender is exactly why I don't want to paint the roof lol

Really would be interested to see which way you go about it though.

Fortunately for you, it's on the roof so no one will really see it.

Like you, I don't like the idea of bondo...but don't want to go as far as replacing a body panel from an SR5 or something either.

Good bedliner guy can make all those holes disappear when applying the bedliner.

Yeah but I haven't convinced @BartMaster1234 to bedline the 4R yet :anonymous:

Maybe that's why the owner of that 4R bedlined all over the holes; to cover up the imperfections seen from having plugged said holes.
