Anyone you recommend to do it? I was gonna ask my local dealer initially but wasn't sure if they would even do it.

The guy that did mine was great; recommended by another tw member on here; and has done a ton of the bushing installs. Hes in Florence Mass; is that within range for you?

This is real timely for me, I just bought my 2014 used with a lift and was trying to diagnose this vibration. Looks like I have it, strongest from 30-40, a kind of pulsing that goes away after about half my commute. I have a short warranty from the dealer, is it worth going after them to get it done? I should note that dealer says they replaced rack and pinion already, which now makes me think they addressed the symptom not the cause. If I go after the dealer for it, is there a way to inspect to verify the bearing is failing without disassembly so that we can show it needs to be done? The dealer is far enough away that they vibe will be gone by the time I get there.

I thought most, if not all dealers would refuse to install an aftermarket part, such as the ecgs bushing. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this. But I thought it all boiled down to liability on installation of a non Toyota part.

@mabepossibly I just found out that some snatch straps, like my ARB, have a lifespan. How long you ask? 10 snatches! Apparently Bubba/Yankum ropes don't have this but the ARB does. We used at least half of those at Sucker Pond! Granted it says "10 fully loaded snatches" and some of ours were more like tugs, but still

I'm mad. Part of me says "use it until it breaks" but I also don't want anyone getting hurt when it breaks...

Wow, I had to google that myself. Like you said, most of the pulls we did the truck pulling couldn't get enough traction or room to make a full stretch.

I wouldn't trust the dealer to mess with anything that the dealer is unfamiliar with let alone work on your truck normally in general.

I can't find anything from ARB yet, but it seems to be the general consensus... Looks like anyone getting stuck Saturday is on their own!

    Kidding, of course

This is why you get people completely out of the way when you do stuff like that.
Who knows anyway, it could have a defect and break the first try.
I've seen a brand new which rope snap on first try, and it didn't get caught or hung up on anything and was a name brand.

Taco lean spacer? Do you know how much you need to correct?

I went with a quarter inch spacer; because i need to correct the driver side a half inch.

Also, news to me, headstrong got bought by tg..

The way to tell if its the needle bearing is to put the truck in 4wd. If it immediately goes away, then its 99% the needle bearing. Some trucks have this vibration and no lift. It feels like a pulsing vibration on the floor board and pedals. Mine goes away as soon as I go over 45ish. Its deff like a buzzing vibration if that makes sense. It started happening literally on the test drive after installing my front Bilsteins.

They may warranty the needle bearing but from what I have read that even a new oem needle will still go bad with a lift. Its a design flaw in the front diff. The needle bearing typically won't look bad when you inspect it either.

Yea, i think they were family owned before. Not surprising shes no longer there under the new ownership. Disappointing because she was super helpful.

I did reach out to tg when I got my ubolt flip and they were helpful. Not crapping on them; I just had a great experience through the Legacy Headstrong folks.

I just bought the entire kit from ECGS to replace the bearing with their bushing. The kit is VERY over priced but I rather be prepared. It came with the bushing, install tool. puller tool, seal driver and OEM axle seal. Kit was 170 bucks. $60 for just the bushing. Seems like most places can do it rather quick. I've read 2 hours of labor should cover the job. I would say around $400ish all together. If you have someone do it who has an internal bearing puller kit then it will save you almost 100 bucks for the tool(super over priced from ecgs). I'm going to switch to lucas 85w140 per what ECGS recommends. The fluid drain and fill should only add a few mins onto the job.

I am trying to get mine done next week. I am more then happy to let you borrow the tools after I am done as I am just gonna throw them up on the classifieds for half price.

I believe @tacobell007 does the bushing swaps at a reasonable price. I do have the puller and an install tool if you wanted to give it a crack.
