Welcome! Thank you for you service.

the group doesn’t matter. We all kinda float between this one, the RVA (Richmond) and NOVA (Northern Va.) Nova gets more of the activity though. Jump in ‘em if you want to..

Yep this is a good one. There’s also one or two for Richmond and on the FB page the Toyota group is typically more active than this group - open to all Toyota’s not just Tacoma’s.

I finally saw a new Bronco on the road. In the magazines, I thought the new Bronco was going to be really beefy and capable, but I was very disappointed in the looks. The thing is smaller than the Explorer- almost to the point of being similar to the Escape! There also looked like less ground clearance than my TRD OR.

Does anyone here have any more experience or knowledge on these? I’m curious about these, but still won’t trade in my taco. :D

The one you are seeing is based of the Ford Escape platform. The big daddy that everyone is waiting for, has not been unleashed to the public yet.

I wasn’t aware there was going to be two different platforms! Maybe the other one will be better looking and have that tough look I associate with Bronco’s.

In a little over a year, my youngest will get my Ford Fusion. So I thought it would be nice to add a backup camera, which I can attest it really does suck backing up - and I HAVE TO COMBAT PARK. So I bought a highly rated one on Amazon and set about pulling things off so I could add the camera and new rear-view mirror. So I added the camera, drilled into the body-which was a bit nerve wracking, and made all the connections- then the shit storm started. I couldn’t get the old rear view mirror off. There’s no Allen screw, no clip to pull down while pulling the mirror up, and nothing else noticeable about getting it off. Needless to say I was freaking pissed and YouTube wasn’t getting me anywhere either. So I waited a few days thinking about what to do, and finally broke down and drove over to a stereo / electronics installation place by my house. I originally went there and they quoted me $400 for installing a camera. I explained to the guy that I bought one and couldn’t get the old mirror off and asked what he would charge to either do that, or just finish the install all together. He didn’t know off-hand how to remove the mirror and said he had a 3 month wait to get anything scheduled. He’s a very nice guy and wasn’t being a dick or anything, but said he wasn’t sure and he’d have to research it once he was working on my car. So I said thanks and was leaving the shop. He came outside and said he could look real quick to see if he could help me out, but again he wasn’t sure. So he grabs the mirror and pulls straight down and the damn thing popped right off. I finished installing the whole thing and works perfectly.

    Soooo......yeah. That’s how I roll.:anonymous:

Completed our drive to San Diego to bring my son to his first duty station (MCAS Miramar). There are some really nice Tacomas out here.

How is it out there? I’ve heard 29 Palms really sucks, but haven’t heard of Miramar.

Yeah.. the actual one that they promote on the tv and everywhere else is the one that is not out yet. that said, The preorders/reservations sold out in something crazy like 3 hrs. (I think). Also, the preorders should start hitting the customers in May this year as long as there is no hiccup's happening. Even the base model doesn't sound to bad.

Nice! Congrats to you and him. I'm already thanking him for His Service.

Side note.. Wifey received a package in the mail today. apparently she signed up for some thing to where if your child graduates basic training in the military, You can receive an American Flag that was flown over the State Capital, on said day of graduation (They need to know all the info, though. IE: Name, Branch of service and graduation day). Not sure how much it cost, but the flag in the box is a 5x8 footer in cloth fabric material, not that nylon stuff.

Pretty sweet. Literally right outside San Diego. We hit the zoo this morning and it only took about 15-20 minutes to get there from base.

If you've ever been out to NTC.. I'm sure the Palms sucks as well.

Edit.. Lemme rephrase that. My times at NTC were all training,. Never leisure. So it's possible the 2 can be different.

Was going to do one over the US capitol, but it was suspended at the time due to COVID.
