I’ve posted about this before but around 2000 rpms I get a noticeable “tick” that increases the faster I go. Under 2000 it’s hardly noticeable. With radio and air off you can hear it pretty good. Not extremely loud though. It’s a 2012 V6 4.0. Is this the normal Taco tick or should I have it looked at for some other issue. Didn’t know if it was injectors valves exhaust leak or something else.

What did the members say the last time you posted about the tick ?

I guess some background info would help ?

    Whats your mileage ?
Do you hear the noise at 1900 rpm with the radio on ?
What happens at 2100 rpm with the AC on and you roll down the window ?
Do you change your oil on a regular schedule ?
Are you automatic or manual transmission ?
Considering its a 2012 , have you ever greased your universal joints ?
    Original exhaust ?
When was last valve adjustment ?
Have you ever flushed your injectors ?

Sorry for all the questions but this is the only way we can help you figure out your noise over a keyboard

230,000 miles. I’ve had the truck only a year. Change the oil as soon as it’s due. As far as greasing that’s all good. Exhaust pretty sure it’s original and I haven’t had injectors flushed or valves adjusted. Automatic tranny.

More than likely it’s your valves ticking my truck does it I don’t worry about it from what I’ve heard it pretty common in Toyotas
