I went with tnutz.com. All 1" extrusion. I found the 8020 site harder to navigate and I'd heard Tnutz is cheaper. My layout is posted on pg 146. Hopefully it goes together smoothly!

The last piece of my "basement" led setup should be here tomorrow. On my GFC, I had really good lighting, but it was only white. I wish I had the ability to do red or orange to keep the bugs away. So this time I'm going with RGBW LEDs and a 2.4ghz remote. Most RGBW controllers are infrared which isn't ideal. I wanted something I could control without my phone, and without having to point an infrared remote at. This remote has 4 scenes I can setup as well. That means I can have one on white, one on red, one on orange, and one... something else.

I'll get plenty of pics once I get it all put together.

    Here are the lights: https://amzn.to/3sgKhh1

Also, this is a random picture from the walk around video I filmed yesterday.

Just putting this out there in case some of you Portland locals haven't heard. Spencer/SP is looking for a second generation Tundra (Crewmax) to check the fit of the new Tundra model on. If any of you guys know someone who can help please send them Spencer's way or reach out to Cindy.

Yes, this is a shameless plug since I am a second gen Tundra owner but I can't help since my Tundra is in Tennessee. Most of his sales so far are 3rd gens, I think I'm the first second gen. The beds are the same dimensions but he wants to double check the fit.

    Thanks

Where did folks run the wires into the chase? I’d there a hidden are besides running it in from the front? Was hoping I could somehow.

Luckily was able to run the wires through a very small opening (who I also means I found one of my dust sources.

Picked up these off a member that’s making mostly plug and play. Parking, brake, reverse and turn signal (hence why I got 2). Pondering some blinker setup work cyclones as my blinkers are somewhat blocked by my tire and gas.

Side note when you or anyone else have time whats the measurement of the tailgate of the SP side to side on the mounting rails? Wondering if i could mount an awning on the back for more cover when cooking?

its plenty wide enough. @blackmist27 had one on his regular shell and was planning on putting one on the X1. You will need to adjust your door to not open as high and more level. The middle set I think it's on opens high and would interview.

    was thinking a 180R from Zero23

    https://23zero.com/product/peregrine-180-r/

Its only 29lbs and 60” footprint but gives you 14’ of cover simple and still self supporting like a 270 but not as heavy. Main thing that I want is cover when cooking if its raining or some quick shade. Might fit my needs and 1/3 the price if it fits and functions.

My Tnutz package arrived yesterday and I got to work putting it together. I expected it could be a pain in the ass, and it was. Took a while to figure out the best way to assemble. I only found a few screw ups initially, two extrusion pieces were an inch too long after I'd made some late changes. I ordered some extra hardware to cover me in case of issues like this. Glad I did, was able to make it work.

Test fitting I found a couple more issues. The fridge will go on the end by the tailgate. I didn't account for how the lid opens now that I'll have it on a fixed platform rather than a slide, and it hits the cross brace once opened to 45*. I can probably just move the brace back an inch or two. The bigger problem is the top rail on the right contacts the peg that the rear hatch latches to - second pic. This prevents the entire cabinet from moving all the way to the side, which is no good. I may just cut that rail back and remove the vertical piece at the front entirely. Also thinking of chopping the horizontal cross pieces to make the cabinet narrower. Need to check it's still wide enough as a stealth sleeping platform. Not bad for a first try.

Been out camping a few times lately. Anza Borrego last weekend.

I’m sure there is a cleaner way to run the wires, but this mine will all be hidden in a bench when I get it built. For now all the wires run together for the LEDs, brake lights, and USB plug. At the corner the three brake light wires split and go into the taillight, while the others run down and into my BlueSeas fuse panel.
