My 562xpg is now officially a west coast saw; sporting a full wrap handle, double felling dogs, 28" guide bar and a square ground full skip chain. Spent the weekend felling firs on my property for log cabin build this summer.

We own and operate a small tree service, so those all get worked regularly, depending on job size. The 562xp saws get picked up a lot. Nasty little saw with a 20” bar. My choice for a saw in the tree, after wood is too big for the 200/201s.

After reading reviews on the largest bar I could run on a 562xpgw, the consensus being 28" is to big. I threw caution to the wind and today proved a a 60cc Husqvarna has plenty of power to chew through a 32" Douglas Fir with a 28" bar.

Those look like a new style gas / oil cap. Can you confirm?

They are the standard cap design and have been on all new Stihls for the last 10+ years. Can't say that I love them but as long as you keep them clean, they work ok..

Completed the "West Coast" conversion on my 462. Full wrap bar, larger felling dogs and 28" Stihl Light bar.

I hope you keep a thread going of your build. Wish I was closer, I'd volunteer some time to help. Sounds like a fun project!
