Don't forget the the environmental costs from mining and the ever clinching restrictions on emissions for ICE. They are not as far off as you might think

I heard Toyota and Tesla have entered an engineering sharing agreement to help further both in the EV market. Toyota quality with Tesla programming. Also bits of sharing in driverless tech but that is no fun.

Though wind and solar have certainly had an uptick in the last decade, I'm not buying the thought that they are the sources driving a "green" world. Again, I like the idea - but just like any energy source, they also have negative impacts. Furthermore, if you want to match immediate demand of an electric world, it's going to be on the back of fossils.

We in the US are completely blind to global energy consumption. It's a luxury to slap solar panels on our roofs, all the while China's coal machine & radioactive runoff from rare earth mines (for those big ass wind turbines) just keeps plugging away.

Oh we are a long way from even getting a 25% reduction and Natural Gas is still the 24/7/365 "cleanest" way to produce electricity. Months ago I read article on Tesla stock ("the stock is Overvalued") that showed roughly 50M Vehicles are produced a year across the world and in 2020 ~2M of them were EV.

Utilities are sized to produce electricity for highest demand (Summer Days) and at night or winter huge % of capacity is not used. In theory EV would take up some of this unused % charging overnight.

But pretty sad to use a pic that has been fact checked. Plus, there are Electric based de-ice systems for wind turbines.

Go beyond environmental and look up the costs the raw materials for batteries are doing to humanity in 3rd world countries.

The picture was not photoshopped

I didn't post a meme implying that this was in Texas.

Not entirely sure what you mean about a pic being fact checked. I sounds to me like it's a legitimate picture of fossil fuels being used to maintain a wind turbine. I don't think the helicopter is running on unicorn farts.

Fossil fuels are used to manufacture the wind turbines damn near everything. I have a friend who helps transport the blades across the country. In addition to the large rig hauling the blade, there are at least three other vehicles involved. There's a pilot vehicle in front, a steersman (steers the rear of the trailer when needed) and a tail gunner. All of those vehicles almost always make the return trip empty.
None of this stuff happens at all without fossil fuels and mining. Not to mention that if these alternative solutions were economically viable they wouldn't require massive governmental subsidies.

I did put down a deposit on a Tesla truck. Can I get an autograph from an exploited autistic young woman?

any recommendations for the go-to person who has a 1/4"x9"x9" piece of steel plate and can welded it to the underside of a trailer jack foot base ? @YamaDirtrider ?? Looking to increase the load distribution surface for stability. TIA.

Also I want self driving so I can decide to go to Arizona or California Friday after work plug in the destination go to sleep and wake up there in the morning (obviously, the tech isnt to a point where it's responsible or safe yet to sleep but it'll get there). I do fear us losing the ability to drive them ourselves though because I love driving.

1/4" x 8 x 8 would work for me if that does not mess up your inventory for future use. No hurry here cause I'm not going out in this shit weather. Will figure a way to connect btwn Golden and your location - anytime before late May. LMK. Thanks.
