I was just looking at it and drooling.

I had a Suzuka Blue AP2 as well. I absolutely loved that car, it's one I wish I had never sold :(

What about the s2? Or does Baja designs have one that’s not crazy in price that’s dimable with a driving light in it

None of the Baja Designs lights are designed to be street legal headlights. They have an SAE fog light but that won't be bright enough or the correct optic for a headlight.

Yep, what these guys said. Under most conditions, the Sport will not be legal as a headlight, nor will the SAE when used in that location. Have I seen it done? Yes, there is a local 4Runner guy with Squadron Sports retrofitted into the headlight, and they perform exceptionally for what they are. That said, I can almost certainly guarantee that you will be blinding oncoming traffic and probably breaking a local law or two.

Disclaimer: The following is not legal advice, and is only provided for those that have situations in which these modifications would be permitted:
I've run Squadron Sports (1800 lumen) in the fog location under daily driving circumstances for many years, with no issues at all. They give me a bit of extra visibility in conditions where the stock headlights don't allow me to see well enough. I've found many common factory headlights to be more obstructive/offensive than the Sports *shrug*. I also run my Miata with the SAEs essentially as my driving light since the factory headlights suck so badly and I don't care to replace them with the retrofits/alternatives on the market - most of which are not SAE compliant either. They function great and provide much better visibility than the headlights, without impacting oncoming drivers from what I have gathered. However, not a legal solution for most people and I'm sure some of the TW police will be upset by the mention of it. Again, only sharing for those that are either exempt, or are already running illegal lifts, tire/mudflap combos, powertrain mods, etc.

There are a few solutions to dim our lights, even without the integrated dim feature that the XLs and some bars have. sPod, Skene Dimmers, as well as other control modules will accomplish this for you.

Long story short. Tubed the front end out and can’t get the headlights to sit level. Plan is to put a squadron and s2 on some aluminum in the headlight position. Rarely drive at night so a decent fog light will be enough for the few occasions I do with the right angle to not blind others.

Short of like 45* angle to the ground, there's really not a good BD product to do what you're trying to do safely and give you any sort of visibility range. You're gonna blind the hell out of anyone you pass.

A BD competitor's fog option has a brighter light with better cutoff, but even then, I don't think you'd find it practical at all.

If you plan on driving that on the road at all, please do not use off-road lights as headlights. It's blatantly unsafe for you and for oncoming traffic. Figure out how to remount the stock headlights, or buy a pair of DOT compliant bucket headlights and mount them to the bumper. Several companies make them, like JW Speaker and KC.

That’s more the reason I was asking about the s2. Smaller. Less output and my next question was about adding a dimmer or resistor to them. But I’m all ears if someone has a slim (that’s not as deep as stock) light. For the handful of times I’ll drive this thing at night on city streets with street lights to go to dairy queen or dinner, I’m not super concerned about output. I’m sure anything is better than these stock lights or the oem lights on my 89 lol.

and don’t forget how bright modern cars are nowadays as well.

Brightness is not the problem, it's pattern. Headlights can be plenty bright without blinding oncoming traffic because they have a light pattern designed specifically for that purpose- a sharp cutoff with a hotspot and fill pattern beneath it. Off-Road lights do not.

Well they are all wired up and functional. Squadron pro's on the a-pillar, sae fog light kit, squadron pro rear flushmounts, 8 rock lights. I have two more rock lights I will be using as cargo lights, but I ran out of time to install them before my moab trip. Shoutout to @ShowstoppersUSA for getting me the lights and switch pro!

So much info on here... what would be best? 30in onx6 or pair lp9? Getting ready to pull trigger but can’t get a comparison anywhere.

    thanks Zach

My personal recommendation between the 2 is going to be the OnX6 in a 30" with a couple of exceptions. Also, I am assuming that you are looking at the LP9 pros which is the only power level where the comparison is fair.

The LP9 might be the better solution if the they are the ONLY additional lighting solution that you have. The IPT lights will provide you with a better bath of light overall whereas the OnX6 will be more "punchy" downrange. If you have another solution for lighting to your sides (if you even need the light there) then the OnX6 is a better light in my experience.

thanks for the info... I live out of my rig when between shifts at fire station. In CO and lots of animals in part of state I live. Trying to save my home on wheels. Will be adding a ditch light to get a wider light view but just want to project as much light forward.

Is the arc better and worth the money?

    thanks Zach
