Yeah I think so, the 5 cyl. I think it was a 70R if I remember right.

Came across this while under the belly. Needs a minor touch up, or 5.

Just a few more welds on the cross-over, and the exhaust feed will be finished.

If there is some curiosity, yes, that is made primarily with scraps.

Are there any other letter or number designations on it? Apparently the td04 were on about 50 models of Volvo with around 12 varying degrees of differentiation. About 15 models of s70. But only 2 years of 70R but with the same turbo designation.

    •TD04HL-18T-7•
    TD04HL 45.6/52 turbine size
    18T 45/56 compressor size
    -7cm3 .49A/R +/- roughly
Practical max CFM is 450 and a choke point of 500cfm at 2.0PR, or basically 14psi on a boost gauge. Getting that to lbs/min is like apples to oranges. Dug a little and found a conversion and explanation as to how and why. A neat find nevertheless. But based off this guy’s numbers at face value 520cfm = 36#/min then the 450cfm is about 31#/min.

    Neat find.

All that said, post a pic and if it looks like I think I may take you up on that offer. 31#/min isn’t spectacular for a 2.7l engine and has the potential of maybe 280-320HP depending on tuning. Being I’m likely about 140BHP right now a jump to 200 would be like a rocket ship in comparison. Plus well under the 31#/min cap. Should be an insta-spool as well since the 3rz is .2l larger. Low 6-8psi boost should be middle of the working range pressure and flow wise as well, unlike an he351 where it’d be barely on the wastegate.

Pink tops on 6psi is spot on at 200hp with no water/meth.

I'll have to take a picture of it when I get home tonight. I just got to work, and haven't looked at the turbo in probably 8 months so I can't remember any specific model numbers at the moment. I'll be sure to post a pic around 4:30 am est! :D

Oil lines and it'll be ready for start up.
Had a lot of little occurances that slowed the process down, when it comes be being quick and efficient. Better now though.

Thought that I posted this here, and not in my build thread. Dang it.

Everything is tight. Just the way I like it. Fitting that down-pipe in was a challenge. Between that support and the casting on the head. One had to get altered, while one was left alone.

I ordered some 3" curved quick release roloc flapper pads, fir the die grinder. 36 grit. From www.benchmarkabrasives.com That pad is a freaking beast. Shreds material. Anyways, carry on.

Had some spare hoses and fittings. I was determined to get a start-up video today. Through the lines on, and made sure that happened.

For the turbo feed solution, this is the easiest. If not running an oil cooler adapter.

Need to weld the AFR bungs into the downpipe. Mount the intercooler, and route the charge tubing. As far as drivable though, it can. No leaks, and sounds exquisitely race truck!

    Quick video.

Anyone know about LS coil upgrades? I'm wasted spark and probably just jumping to LS coil packs. One part that has me scratching my head is custom plug wires from the coil pack to the plug. Is there a place that makes custom plug wires? Wiring to the ECU is easy.

You can get Diy plug kits. Just goog around a bit. I think I used Msd ones on my Rb with Buick coils back in the day.

That is what is looking like. Maybe I can find someone/shop who has the crimp. I prefer not to buy a crimp tool just to make 4 wires.

If it is something cheap like that then I don't mind. I was thinking it was some $200 plus tool. Cool I'll do some research. I just don't want to own every electrical tool known to man.

    A thing or two...
You also have to consider that spark plug wires don't last forever. Eventually, you'll need the tools again.
