A road trip to meet an available tuner would definitely be worth your time.

I don't think I need a performance tune necessarily, I've tried the "quick acceleration" tunes provided by ovtune and I ended up flashing back to the normal tunes they gave because I didn't care for the quick acceleration.

That said, I think the Kruiser might be more my style but I can't find a thread talking about that tune at all for some reason. Can someone post a link so I can see what that tune is about before I buy?

The Kruiser tune is pretty much phased out. Instead, the KDMax tune has several options with different throttle response: Xtra, Regular, Light, and Super Light. I personally prefer the super light. It just works the best for my truck and the road conditions in Alaska. Predictable/controllable take off, and I still get to enjoy the added performance of KDMax.

This is exactly what I was trying to figure out, that's super helpful. Thank you! I will be PM'ing them right now and I'll start with the SLT because I already know that's probably what I'll like the most.

Right on! I already have all the equipment: cable, laptop, and programs from Ovtune. I'll be able to do it myself right or do I still have to go to someone? I've been running OVtune for awhile now but I have been wanting to try something new.

Gotcha. In that case, I think that you can purchase the tune files directly from either @PapaRee or @TWTaco. Then you can do the tuning yourself!

Thanks @LstMinutePanic looks like you got @xLOGREx all sorted. @xLOGREx I recommend the LT or the SLT for around here with snow. If you spend a lot of time in 4Lo or stop and go traffic the SLT is the choice. Reach out if you have any questions. I'm in SLC but work in Clearfield.

Awesome man, I live in WVC! I agree that LT and SLT sound like what I’ll want. I do mostly daily driving and go out wheeling/camping a couple times a year. I love how helpful you all are in this thread, it’s a breath of fresh air!

You will get all the throttle options if you buy the tune pack from @PapaRee or @TWTaco and flash it with your hardware/software. Happy to help.

Sweet! Do you prefer the regular or premium octane tune?

Shoutout to @Uscgamecock7 for fixing me up wed night! From a newbie taco owner's perspective, this tune has been great, especially for gears 1-3. Smoother shifting and quicker acceleration from a full stop, which is nice when trying to turn onto a busy road.

I just ordered a VF tuner, and have been in touch with @PapaRee about purchasing the tune pack. I can keep you informed of my progress.
