That one looks homemade to me, but I don't really know much about bed storage systems for these trucks just yet.

 

Definitely homemade. He even says he is only charging for the materials, and not his labor.

At the price of lumber these days, $450 might be an actual steal even if you didn't want it for the sleep platform haha

 

Looks pretty slick to me. Better than the bedrug and klymit pad I sleep on in my shit box.

 

Same comment I was thinking, at ~$100 for a sheet of ply, that looks like a pretty good deal.

Anyone have a set of 1st gen OEM UCA in good condition?

Guy at the shop down the street used a meat grinder to install my new bushings, and I don't want to put parts that look like this back on my truck.

Bonus points if you can help me salvage the brand-new OEM bushings that are now trapped in this shrapnel.

I'm in Colorado Springs, but am willing to drive a bit if I can get this sorted out within the weekend.

 

That shop should pay for new UCA's. I did mine in a bench vise with a wash cloth over the end, didn't even scratch them.

 

Yeah, I'm going back on Monday to see if he'll make things right... but it's a one-man shop, and the one man did the work, handed them to me, and ran my credit card without flinching. I'm not feeling optimistic.

I'm kicking myself for not seeing the damage before I paid.

 

If that guy won't make it right, maybe your CC company will.

 

I am in COS also. Could you provide hints for the name of this shop so that I don't ever make the mistake of using him?

 

I'll post an update on Monday after I talk to the shop owner. He's not open on weekends, so everyone will be safe in the meantime
