Any reason these wouldn’t work on a second gen?

If the bolt for the leaf is in about the same spot I don't see why not, but I'm just not going to advertise it since I haven't tested it. All they do is push the cable away from the leaf so it doesn't rub, and the line is loose inside the clamp so it can flex also and not cause a problem.

Like I said I don't see why not, the AAL is the same one that goes on the 3rd gen, actually they are for Tacomas from 1995-2021, so as long as the emergency brake line runs the same way it would work.

FYI... these will not fit Deaver U402's without modification. The keeper bolt is too short. No biggie, but I have to run to the hardware store to get a replacement. Also, due to the bolt orientation, I have to remove the leaf pack or cut it off... I'm gonna chop it.

Really? It looks like you have a couple threads on there, the brackets are only 1/8" thick

I think the issue will be that the keeper spreads apart when you loosen the bolt. Getting the threads started is nearly impossible. You might be able to clamp the keeper closed, and then engage the threads, but even then, I don't feel great about so few threads engaging.

I ended up replacing the keeper bolt with a 3/8-16 x 3.5 bolt and a nylock nut, and it's about the perfect length.

The only other recommendation I might have is to add another clamp hole, closer to the leaf pack. Right now, the bracket is "pushing" the brake line towards the wheel. Giving the option for it to be 1/2" closer to the pack, might make it sit more naturally.

Regardless, I'm happy to have gotten these installed. I didn't like my brake cable flopping around and it was starting to wear through the protective jacket, where it contacted the leaf keeper.

Thanks for the innovative product, Ryan.

I see what you mean and ya I'm not sure on the distance between the axle and the keeper bolt compared between the Deavers and Icons

No sure if it would make a difference but I have mine mounted with the bend on top, I see yours are flipped around compared to mine. I just noticed this.

Height wise, I think we're good. My line naturally rested in that zone...

    Screenshot_20210418-073051_Gallery.jpg

I'm OK with how they're currently installed. I'll run it for a bit and report back if I have any issues. But thanks for checking in.

For the record, I still recommend this product to other Deaver owners.
