I need a shop recommendation for rebuilding heads on the taco, anyone have a place they trust? Im willing to travel out to the right shop.

I have used Gilroy Machine twice for some honda's. They did a good job.

 

what do you need done? Valves, seats, guide seals?

 

Yea pretty much all the above.
approaching 250k and the seals are gone. Definitely want them deep cleaned and resurfaced also

 

Mine is at 340K still goin strong. Never had any valve work done, getting pretty much the same milage it always has.

 

Some get lucky/ take better care of their engines I suppose, This truck has had a pretty rough life. Previous owner before me took this thing mudding often and I’m guessing he liked to rev it to the moon, and then theres me, adding a supercharger to it after 200k.

 

I'll probably eventually add a SC... after 400K because why not?

If I did add a SC, I would definately freshen things up first.

 

I say do it! It is definitely my favorite mod I’ve ever done. But yes definitely prepare or refresh the engine for it at that mileage. Yota1 says they have slightly different engine and head configurations for supercharged application, I’m definitely interested in learning a bit about that.
